QUOTE(bbmars @ Jan 14 2014, 09:47 PM) Reject? Don't say until that way. Do you know that there is a famous Bat kut Teh stall in KL 9don't know the name), the cook is actually trained and learn his skills from SG and went back to eventually open a stalls pack with long queue? Watch the documentary on TV few years ago? Some food are not original from MY, but from SG. Anyway, it does not matter, whoever cook and tasted better, good for everyone. does not have to be from which ever country. But we are talking about food that cannot get in MY as mentioned. so i am curious to know what food. As for the chefs. There are exceptional cases. One chef train from SG does not turn into the food made in SG. Majority of food in SG ORIGINATE from MY. Some of the food that are featured in SG taste bad. Famous here famous there but go try... Most of the time it is dissapointment. Unlike MY less dissapointment. As for BKT they use to make pepper based soup in SG and calked it BKT. until recent years they started having MY type of BKT that is herbal based. Those pepper based BKT sucks. And they still put tomato sauce in noodles...yuck

I am not saying no good food in SG. Generally their food in not nice.
As for concept restaurants, those are concept shop. Not generic food like BKT, chowkueitiau, rojak, siupau and so on. That is my understanding of good food. Concept restaurants are specialty restaurant with unique food. I dont think you can count that as 'good food' for general discussion.
