QUOTE(patdidi @ Dec 18 2012, 02:42 PM) You applied on 15/12 and its already approved? Or how do u know that you will get the trolley bag? I sent my application via email last week and their reps. call me on thursday. She said it will need 2-3 weeks for approval. But I forgot to ask about the free trolley bag Mine was approved 2 days after documents submission through email, 2 or 3 weeks should be maximum. If your aplication is successful, you will receive email from them that you have enrolled e-statement. Read t&c at their website to see whether you will get the trolley bag.

We are discussing bout the treatment by banks, we do know that the gst will ultimately go to government.
Why are you so sarcastic to delete other peoples' posts to prove yourself right?

QUOTE(ronnie @ Feb 4 2013, 11:26 AM) hye just want to prevent public users to have misconception that we can offset the Govt Service Tax. There is no misconception, the decision to offer any kind of rebate ultimately lies with the banks. Is he trying to indicate the banks are doing something illegal?

QUOTE(vincentxiang @ Feb 4 2013, 07:39 PM) My humble opinion is the word member here chosen to interpret how to save money for paying GST. In view of legal, there is no way to "waive" GST, but bank can offer some incentive, such as reward point & cash rebate, and you may use these incentive to offset the GST you re obliged to pay. It is same practice on paying personal tax, gove offer some incentive for public to offset the tax you re obliged to pay but it doesnt mean the partial of initial amount you should pay is "waived". Hope it clarifies the word 'waived' here is not illegal unless i post porn here then it is strictly prohibited. forum is a place for discussion, if the members here use the incorrect word such a 'waived', we may educate them to use the correct word instead of just keep on deleting posts and those new comers don't even know wth is happening and their posts just gone missing. refer to the below picture, even Bank Rakyat use the word 'GST waiver', if it is misleading or improper, i think someone would have reported it to Bank Negara. Dear hye, please don't think that you are always right. listen to others. you don't own this forum or this section of the forum. thank you! Attached thumbnail(s)

QUOTE(b00n @ Feb 5 2013, 12:39 AM) Refer OCBC website with good FAQ. http://www.ocbccards.com.my/overlay/CCServiceTaxFAQ.aspxBtw, 2 wrongs doesn't make 1 right, I.e. Bank Rakyat's case. Also, I think probably most bank's sales person are to be blamed for misused of the word "waiver". If you use google to search, the term similar to gst waiver appears in Ambank, Amex, HLB, CIMB etc websites or their enclosures. There are more than 2 wrongs there. What i tried to emphasise so far is we are more concerned towards the substance rather than the form. Waiver, rebate, cash back or usage bonus are just a term to described the RM50 subsidies by the banks. As long as it is understandable, why are we so particular on the specific term being used?

QUOTE(hye @ Feb 5 2013, 09:42 AM) nothingz If you do not care about accuracy of the terminology, I'll appreciate if you keep that as your preference. I don't see why us and especially me need to agree to your preferences especially when accuracy is compromised and readers can be confused. MilesAndMore Thank you. Accurate or misleading is not up to you alone to judge, there is nothing to prove you are right either. One thing for sure is you deleted my post again on how i pointed you as double standards. Such a disgrace to the mod team for not able to admit your own fault

QUOTE(b00n @ Feb 5 2013, 12:17 PM) Amex FAQ: http://www.americanexpress.com.my/membersh...exfaq010110.pdf"4. Can I request for a waiver? No, I am so sorry that we can’t waive the service tax. However, we are glad to inform that you may redeem the service tax using your Membership Rewards (MR) points." HLB FAQ: http://www.hlb.com.my/pfs/cc/ccservicetax.jsp?flag=ccimpnote"Can the service tax be waived? No. However,, we have extended our reward redemption option to allow our Cardholders to use their reward points to redeem against the service tax. " Ambank can't seem to find their FAQ, however this is stated in their AMBonus Rewards Porgram: http://www.ambankgroup.com/en/Personal/Car...Redemption.aspxWhich they termed as GST Waiver Redemption: "Now with only 5,000 AmBonus Points you can offset your Credit Card GST! " CIMB FAQ doesn't mention about GST waiver: http://www.cimbbank.com.my/index.php?rp=card+gstThe point we are trying to highlight here is GST is levied on the cardholder and the bank "technically" cannot waive it. They are only paying on behalf of the customer by giving out "offset programs" eg points redemption, or if one spends above certain level, etc... program. Hope it clarifies. Let us drop this and go back to the discussion on Citi's card. It still does not solve the issue of posts being deleted without reasons given. If a member asks on gst waiver, i correct him and reply on rebate but still both posts will be deleted. Banks can use this term but we cant..... The matter will not end until your dear friend hye stops his nonsense

QUOTE(Celestia @ Feb 13 2013, 12:01 PM) how does citibank contact you regards to your application status? whether reject or approve? email/normal mail/phone ? If you receive email from citibank that you have enrolled to electronic services means your application is successful. They are usually quite fast in processing application

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Feb 15 2013, 03:50 PM) I believe it is Ready Credit card: https://www.citibank.com.my/english/readycr...ferCode=MYHTNRCPlease read the feature, terms and conditions, for your own benefit. It is not a credit card, it is a credit facility given to the principal card holder. Instead of charging cash withdrawal fee + interest, they only charge interest on amount withdrawn. Interest rate is rather high This post has been edited by nothingz: Feb 15 2013, 04:21 PM

QUOTE(allornothing @ Feb 17 2013, 11:09 PM) New holder of Clear Card. I've made two online purchases which did not require me to enter any randomly generated PIN. Does Citibank not use Verified by Visa or Mastercard Securecode? I find it ironic since Maybank uses it. i used it a week ago, it requires me to enter verified by visa pin. certain websites do not request for the pin such as Apple Store Malaysia, HP Telesales. These kind of transactions, they will call up personally to confirm the transactions. For Apple Store, i used MBB card to purchase Ipad for the first time, they called but not the second time
