BTW, last night I saw a white CFE Preve with rear bumper skirting like Dhuangs, looks very sporty, jelly betul wub.gif

Say what you want about Preve's ugly butt, but at night it looks really nice with that two lines of tail light, even better with the rear skirting.
*
yes that's what i've heard too - during the day, the high butt is ugly but at night, it looks good.

i am thinking if i were to get a preve cfe, i'd get bodykit and maybe change the Bosch HU to a bigger screen with reverse camera - maybe put it leather seats...

when do we think the facelift will be?

Can I learn more about bodykits?

I heard so far only Airmaster is the official brand.

What about the others? What's wrong with them?

Is it worth it to put it on?

Added on November 18, 2012, 7:07 pmBooked a Jazz Hybrid.
Re-test drove the Preve CFE and decided Preve is value for money and may get a Preve instead.
It is spacious inside. Interior looks classy (although quality is lacking). But comes full specs with sensors, gps, paddle shift, etc.
Driving still feels a little plastic and cabin a little noisy.
Jazz Hybrid of course, smoother, but RM20+k more.
I only drive in KL with the RARE occasion of driving out of state, I pump petrol once a month. Max twice a monh.
So say over 5 years * 12 months = 60 * RM120 (full tank) = RM7,200
Savings of RM12+k that can be used for service and fixing the car.
Sure Preve won't save the environment but Jazz Hybrid also won't save that much petrol.
So Preve is a value buy. My family, prejudiced at first, against the Preve 'cos it's Proton went to see the car with me today, and changed their perception and agreed the Preve was a good and value for money car.

My only thing was, with the test drive, although powerful and ECU updated, still didn't have a very smooth drive. Felt a little plastic. Plus, steering felt heavy compared to Jazz Hybrid.

So question - is there a big difference between Premium and Executive driving?

I tried the Saga FLX and it was horrible - no power steering. And engine didn't feel powerful. I heard same engine as Preve Executive.

Your help is much appreciated.

Thank you, Ryuken74 for your feedback. Is your Exec an Auto?

I saw some include a reverse camera - do they attach this to the GPS unit (in the Preve Premium) or is it a separate and new device altogether?

lol wad. What no power steering? lolz.

it has power steering and it is a bit to the heavy side.

What is your previous car/the car you're driving currently?
*
Steering for Saga I had to use so much energy - my arms were tired just making a turn around the block.

I drive a Kelisa currently. LOVE IT! rclxm9.gif Compared to the Saga, it is so light.

The steering on the Preve Premium is lighter (thank goodness) but not as light as say, the Almera. Almera steering is like silk.

u can install aftermarket reverse camera connect to the HU directly,no need extra device
*
Cool - is it cheap to do so? Cheaper than buying a new unit at least - or having that cool rear view mirror thing.
The GPS unit on the Premium Preve is tiny - 4.5"? I like how the GPS when speaking directions has a local and neutral accent.

separate device, the HU has no camera integration as far as i know.  The SA i went to was selling auto dimming rear mirror + reverse camera(in the rear view mirror) as an addon for RM650.

although im certain we can get it cheaper if we look into accessory shops.
*
This is kind of cool - I think I saw it on the Sportage. I wonder which is more of a hassle - this or just replacing the gps unit. By attaching the reverse camera to the backside, do they drill and does this cause leakages or cracks?

Added on November 19, 2012, 1:09 amI would also opt for leather if I could but 'cos the airbags are built-in to the seats - is this normal, btw? First time I've heard it, tbh.

Added on November 19, 2012, 1:13 amCan I watch DVD on the Premium Preve GPS unit?

Not trying to bad mouth almera here, but can you actually feel where your car is going/turning during on straight road and also during cornering? I feel so disconnected from the car when I am test driving the Almera.

almost all Proton cars has weighted steering for a reason; it offers better feedback and instill confidence during cornering, part of it is to compliment the "Proton Ride & Handling".
*
Yeah except the Saga FLX I tested was really too much feedback and I had no confidence with the steering. I really wanted it to be great 'cos for that price and interior, it's worth it.No muscle to turn the steering wheel. Also, pressing on the accelerator and car would rev but wouldn't go that much faster.

Added on November 19, 2012, 1:21 amAlmera was liquid steering - it gets better - when I first test drove it, I was like, "Wow... way too light! What's going on?" but on second test drive, I thought it had seasoned (the car that is) and steering was better.

When I accelerate I expect the car to move, the steering to feel good and the overall drive experience to be good. Not to over-exert myself like with the Saga. Why make it tiresome?

I do have and drive other cars in my house. All pretty balanced and comfortable to drive. With decent feedback when I accelerate and turn the steering wheel.

Added on November 19, 2012, 1:34 am+ why are we getting into the technicalities of my driving? I didn't like the Saga FLX. Full stop. I didn't agree with the steering and how it drove and if that is how the Preve Executive drives like so, then that's bad.

Added on November 19, 2012, 1:35 amAnd if comparing Saga FLX to Kelisa, I'd say, stick to Kelisa. The zippy-ness of the Kelisa is unparalleled.

Added on November 19, 2012, 1:36 amNot to mention if having to compare Saga FLX to Myvi, I'd say get a Myvi. It's definitely a better experience. Just overall, less stress. The jammed roads are stress enough. One should at least have a relaxed ride. Like the Almera.

Added on November 19, 2012, 1:40 amBut if you want a more powerful and enjoyable ride where you feel you're in control, then Preve Premium is good (can we make the steering wheel lighter?) I just feel like utilising the energy in the Preve all the time and since I don't do much highway driving, it would be wasted on me.

Jazz Hybrid is definitely smoother than the Preve Premium. Maybe due to the size of the car, eh?

HAHAHAHA osteoperosis....wink.gif*thumbs* for that. HILARIOUS. I'm a shorty... doesn't matter -

Oh yes, another thing to love about the Preve- i can boost up the seat to maximum.

Do Saga owners actually have to fix their cars everyday? poor them!

Yes, the ECU update makes Preve Premium more responsive. When I first test drove the Preve, the lag disappointed me but today, it was much better.

Then why did you get a Vios, dares? Thinking of changing to a Preve Premium?

Added on November 19, 2012, 1:50 amBTW, I find the butt of the Preve Premium too big. Clearly, not a fan of big butts.

How was the resale value of the Saga? I'm wondering is the resale value bad because there are a lot of Protons for sale, or is it just 'cos the car has no value, you know?

And omg, at jerking at low speed. You do like to punish yourself. Many people told me to get a Fiesta but I don't know, I'm quite functional and practical - hence why Preve Premium and Jazz Hybrid. And Almera reliability. But Fiesta is good price, I think. Is yours auto?

And Almera lost out for me when I found out back seats couldn't be put down. So un-functional. My Kelisa is awesome - can store lots of things. I've carried furniture in it.

can fit reverse camera to make reversing an easier task.

*
yes, if i put it reverse camera, the premium preve will be almost perfect smile.gif

Added on November 19, 2012, 1:59 amBTW, does the Premium Preve have an arm rest for the driver? I forgot to notice - otherwise, can we fit it in? or does it have a centre console cum armrest already?

I saw the Vios G,very nice with all the leather, not quite as premium as Altis G but pretty good.

Vios doesn't really appeal to me, sadly.

most B-segment sedans cant have their seats fold flat anyway.

if your kelisa is so awesome, why bother parting with it anyway since it has adequately weighted steering feedback (by your definition), can zip here zip there, zip till holland, easy to park, easy to steer and you can put the whole of Ikea in it.
*
yes, one should hear me exclaim every time i squeeze into a nook to park, "ISN'T MY CAR THE BEST?"

family pressure - they are twisting my arm to waste money on a new ride now. they've been wanting me to for the last ... 6 years at least.

Expect 20% depreciation in the first year, then 10% for second and lesser for each subsequent years.

Yea mine is auto hatchback. If you are after a practical fuss free ride and dont mind sacrificing performance and a bit of safety....I am gonna get burnt in his thread for saying this......get the Vios J. Anything more expensive than RM80k for a vios is a con job.

Depreciation sounds like other cars.

Vios good. At certain part of the states, when people look at you driving a Vios, it is like you driving a BMW.

Really... imagine when you drive a Premium Preve? Same reaction?

yeay to bluetooth and hands-free. rclxm9.gif

hahaha...

the Preve for me has a very understated executive look and feel. polo sedan doesn't come close. jazz hybrid has a fun outlook. the prius c is nether fun nor executive...

time to sell off the fiesta and get a Vios. Then people will look highly of you.

I believe the G currently has a large cash rebate.

Man, the finishing in the Altis G was so sweet. Really class, imo.

Have you guys thought what kind of face lift or refresh or new features Proton will add to the Preve?

BTW, is the Hatchback and putra-like Preve confirmed?

Added on November 19, 2012, 2:16 amwhat about Inspira 1.8 compared to Premium Preve? I remember disliking the seats in the Inspira...

How did you shortlist the Fiesta?
I wonder if some people who wish others to follow the same (i.e. asking people to buy Fiesta all the time, actually want others in the same boat or actually have a good experience with it)

I remember not feeling it with the Inspira... but I thought one should compare 'cos it's the thing to do. The low seats that I tried to boost as high as possible, wasn't quite happening and a disappointment.
