Kinda off topic, does anyone here use microsim that cut from normal sim here? My maxis legacy 99 unlimited sim card are normal size and I'm getting a new phone and it only works for microsim, so cutting is needed for my sim card.

Initially I was thinking to buy those cheap microsim cutter and adapters and cut it by myself, but I've been told that there's a risk that it won't work unless I go back to telco service centre(maxis in this case) and I can get 100% working microsim.

Is it true?

Do I have to pay if I go maxis centre and ask for replacement for microsim?

And they can replace the microsim to you on the spot? Also do they have the adapter as well? I need it coz have to use it for modem.

Just called Maxis and apparently it has a RM25 charge whenever you want to upgrade or change a new sim card, I told her someone did the upgrade foc, she replied me that it'll only apply to new maxis customer within one year subscription period. So in other word have to pay RM25 for each card, let alone have to pay extra for the adapter.

Guess I've to buy the cutter and cut it myself, just hoping that it'll work after cutting lol.

Google a bit and apparently all the telco centre out there will do the cutting job foc, anyone can confirm this? Some more I don't really need the adapter afterall, just use back the remaining part from the normal sim after cut, it works just like normal sim again. It's possible to cut it foc.

Sifu digilife if u stay near PJ then can consider lah, dunwan to post my sim, kinda risky and somemore have to wait quite long also.

Speed these days is not so good in PJ but OK la still can achieve this.

113 sorry, i read somewhere we need to call maxis to tell them we need public ip and then the speed will be capped at 2Mbps some sort .. is that confirmed?
