Did you plug the E398 directly to the MR3420?

If yes, why dun you use a USB Cable ( pref USB3.0) [ Blackie, you should hav send her some emi shield la]) The cable will make the connection between the modem and the router more flexible

how is the RSSI comparing MF680 with E398 ?

E398 is huawei, why it dun work with MDMA?

3G , most of the time , even if you have Good Signal (RSSI) , Good Modem , Enough of Power supply to the modem , there will be BOTTLENECKS created by lousy LAN cables and Router FW.

Ofcourse not, TM is not that kind enough to give you a Dlink. This is a solid router. Its a new set actually, The former owner bought 2# and this is for bridging/backup purpose. The sticker used to cover the LAN ports are still intact, just that it was flashed the DDWRT FW. I recently have acquired another 2# DDWRT flashed routers too, rm120 for 2

Zoom > Dlink > PC @16Mbps

They are not Moron Totally, HSSB can utilise it , DC-HSPA+ sure can ride on it,

Actually Dlink is like Apple Product. Designed in California but manufacture in China

I would say this is a robust router, wat more if its DDWRT flashed

TM's version FW sucks but pipu knoe how to flash DDWRT version and it rocks on it

I dun use WiFi via the router, just LAN > PC

I done 4 speedtest and 3 of them have similar crest.

SUPERCHARGE a E372 wont have issue with HW550, if you dun use the latest E372 FW

this FW hav no issue with E372 even i use TX=33 ( Supercharged )



the E372 FW listed on Blackie's Supercharge Thread cannot use with HW550 but can use on MR3420

You guys have Routers and MF680/E372, its yime to up the ante

The other day Blackie mentioned abt Network Bottleneck.

My findings today:

MR3420+MF680 via LAN only



MR3420+MF680 via single 8dBi Antenna ( default MR3420 is double 3dBi antenna )

Its the default MR3420 Invax data cable CAT5 je

If you guys intends to use WiFi only on your MR3420 V1/V2, trust me, just replace the 2#3dBi Antenna with a Single 8dBi antenna should be fine. - damage to your pocket abt rm40 je



just MF680 direct plug into Mr3420 , no antenna , solve the bottleneck issue of the lousy TP Link mobo "copper highway"

I luv my 8dBi Router's antenna

We use our router in a couple of ways, :-

1) use only the LAN cable

2) use only WiFi with its Default Dual 3dBi antenna

3) use wifi and LAN at the same time

4) i use wifi only with an Enhanced 8dBi router antenna which u can easily buy from TP Link website for abt rm40.00 +/-

Pls note that MR3420 is a budget 3G router , meaning its design and material used is a cheapo type (low end). When you use it in a good RSSI and user density area ( like chuah's place ) you wont feel any problem, but if your area's signal is low like mine (RSSI 93~101) every thing counts.

Bottlenecks occur when our modem managed to get the best reception but was not able to translate the connection into a fast connection because the power supply to the cheapo circuits is only 12V @ 1A imagine the LED lights consume electricity , the chips consume power ....... when you lag, heat generates in the mobo, the function becomes slower to travel........using single antenna consumes less power too

2 antenna need more power , unless your router to pc is far far away, else one is enough
