Why is it my ping always 150+? Even when i'm in singapore server.. My location is johor. Any ideas or tips for lowering my ping.

thats normal to me..even in singapore servers,its not really that high..for me LOL

my normal ping in GA servers are 200-500,and the only lags and stutters are caused by my gc,not the connection.

hope mine doesnt have that gc problem like my old wan

You can't play fps game @ 150 ping even its BF2. BF2 is not as aim dependant as CS. You can play nice @ 80 ping in BF2 but in CS its going to ruin u

i could kill someone and see other people walk instead of land drag,when my ping is 400-600,sometimes in 700 everything is still smooth.

in bf2 ping 150 is good already
it can consider bad if the ping is above 300

I never join anything above 250-300.. that'ss just running into suicide game. 150+ is pretty good, actually.

And what BF2 ain't aim dependant..?

U can play with 150 ping la in BF2
150 ping in BF2 = 70-90 ping in CS

Ya.. I thought of that also... He's using random port.. I tried to block all port except BF2 ports, it can, his network led blinking slower.. But i cant even play BF2, the program stuck before the intro.. All blank... Dont know why lah..

Before the i patch my BF2 to 1.2v.. I like to play in WYD#1 server.. Always 64 full players.. Weapons all unlocked.. Unlimited sprint.. but the only thing is unranked.. It just matter of time when WYD#1 server goes 1.2v.. In 1.2v they said all players hav unlimited sprint.. not sure bout the weapons n izzit ranked or not...

No way it'll be ranked with such mods. Btw try servers like EA Jap, TH, TW, SG or EAPlay. Surely u can get some good pings among all those.

WTF after patching 1.21 my connection in gamearena was 700+ today..before this its 130+ oni...is the patch or its streamyx?

arh..I cant play in my fav server anymore...how to play with ping that high..

wow.... 700ms in GA? Mine seems fine tho... around 120+. My stimix is 1024/512, even torrents also working fine 90+ DL, 40+ UL.

Just finished piecing my new machine together,it could conquer the highest setting of bf2 with ease.After finished patching bf2,tried it out a round in GA.The ping is 500+,and even with such machine,the game still lags,due to crappy connection.

There's notthing wrong with your computer dude. Streamyx got international connection problem, that's why pings at GameArena is like (on my computer) 300++

i dunno about u guys....but for me, after doing some experiment, different ips yield different pings:

60.xx.xx , my ping to GA = 1000+ms

219.xx.xx , my ping to GA = 500+ ms

218.xx.xx, ping to GA = 150+ ms

so now, im sticking with 218.xx.xx.xx

yesterday i tried playing on GA server. My ip is 219.xx.xx.xx but my ping is 120+ ms. I think it depends more on the location rather than ip alone.

ya.. last few nite.. i played at EA TH server (i think it is thai serv).. my ping is 30 to 40+ ler. i was very amaze leh.....

Nope.. its the ip adress that tells your ping... 218.xxxx (like the NewbieBetta stated above) i got a ping 1++...

If i change the ip... sometimes i got 700 ping...

Usually... when i wanna play games online.. i change my ip to 218.xx.xx.xxx

U guys should try it

But 219.xx.xxx ip address sometimes i got low ping... and high ping.,,..

Bah...doesn't matter what ping i use, it's still low. But sometimes i get unlucky and my ping is around 700+

how do u guys change ip?i tought streamyx when u login an IP was giving on every time u login a diffrent ip is give..its not easy to get a 218 IP

Reconnect. Over and over and over... thats how I do it.

yep...reconnect....By the way.. i log in just by turning the modem on... So if i wanna change the ip... i turn off and on my modem lerr... easy wat..
