Dude, you can play for free now. If you have account. Just log in and you can even play Panda race(not the monk char though)

Then you can test it out before upgrading.


I think it is mainly for the sake of progression. Like all expansion, you will need to play the game and see the quest to see the storyline.

Each expansion had roughly the same progression. Storyline is - you beat the baddies.

Can play up to certain lvl. Last time I check it is free to play up to 25 or sumthing.


For sure, you will have to farm stuff... if you want progression.

Otherwise you can join LFR(looking for raid) and just join bunch of random people and hack the *boss at reduced capability and easy clear to watch the end game.

btw, about 7-8 months ago. Got free upgrade all the way to cataclysm. <at that time cataclysm was already towards th end point for the expansion >

And also got free 85 char when sor by some existing subscription. + free mount.


And others like another promotion, give you free D3 also got. But have to sign up for 1 year subs of WOW. <I got into it.>


If you buy expansion for regular price, I think includes 1 month subs.
