Step 1 – Go to https://account.sonyentertainmentnetwork.co...33;input.action
Step 2 – For Country/Region, select United States, and for State, select New York. Then fill up the rest.
Step 3 – Confirm your login e-mail address and password. Turn on your NEX, and enter Applications.
Step 4 – Connect to a wi-fi connection, and download the applications for free.

There are 4 applications available for download at the moment.

Photo Retouch – Photo editing application.
Direct Upload – Upload your photo to directly to Facebook from your camera.
Smart Remote control – Control your camera using PlayMemories Mobile.
Picture Effect - Combine 2 picture effects at the same time. (Example – Partial color RED + Partial color GREEN)
