Btw, need a quick feedback.
Should I update my phone to official JB first before flashing custom kernel? My phone still very 'virgin's now, not even the sim card biggrin.gif

im running on official JB rom nod.gif

i only rooted it but not flashing anything to it

So, you don't use custom kernel, especially the iodak version?
Thought if on stock kernel and rom, the phone battery tend to drain & heat fast?
What's your purpose of rooting it? Remove bloatware? If yes, mind to share which built in app safe to be removed?

There is no need for that...you can flash the zip file directly without going back to 4.1.2....it will work
On stock or on custom kernel, the heating problem is still there..
Its just that on stock, thermal protection limit have been increased to gives more space for performance....

You can visit General Discussiom section in XDA to find which apps can be safely removed..

If youre lazy to do that, just flash magic rom which is stock based with lots of bloatware removed and themed perfectly...

Huh...thought iodak kernel able to reduce heat thus the stability and smoothness? Anyway, think the heat only obvious when heavy gaming, right? Normal apps and web browsing should be fine, right?
Well, will try upgrade to JB these fee days then only try the phone.
btw, any recommended casing and screen protector? Still not getting any for my phone yet (also why I don't use it yet). I find it very hard to get this model accessories in normal phone shop, someone even quote me a nillkin case for >rm100 shocking.gif

Stability and smoothness is not a problem...the problem now is our processor generate much more heat and even faster rate, in stock kernel, lg developers coded a safety feature called thermal protection limit...when our cpu & battery hits a certain limit, the kernel will lower down the working cpu frequency to reduce thermal heat being produced to protect the battery and motherboard itself...This protection gives us problem where there will be performance drop once cpu freq being limited...

Nvidia default temp limit is 80°c, our stock kernel is 65°c if im not mistaken...in custom kernel, they disabled/tweak this features to avoid the cpu being reduced in freq...

Its not that custom kernel reduced the heat generated...even if ure using custom kerneln when do browsing around 20min, cpu temp able to hit 55 degrees, nothing to worry as nvidia promised us that tegra 3 can withstand up to 85 degrees...

About the casing and sp, i bought mine from lelong...rm15 for both...now no stock already

IC, so this sound like the nvidia issue, no wonder not much manufacturer using its chipset now. Wonder with casing put on will it help to feel less of the heat? Personally I'm not so prefer any casing since it's adding more weight and also spoil the nice look of our phone, if possible would like to just put on a bumper case to protect the 4 edges of the phone only, but not sure is such casing available for this model.
Btw, I've read through some Q&A section in xda forum and got some idea about basic rooting, unlock bootloader etc. Now let say I just want a custom iodak kernel on stock JB rom, is it what I need to do now as per below sequence :
1) update to stock JB using LG tool
2) root the phone
3) unlock bootloader (necessary) ?
4l flash custom kernel

Wonder is there any method to copy the app data to new phone, e.g. game play like candy crush, which I already play till level 200+ and I don't want to play this game from level 1 again in my new phone.

Candy crush is just an example (some more i dont play candy crush in FB) what I mean is overall game play or other apps saved data.
So, titanium backup is one choice, but I didn't use it, I use super manager, not sure is it function same as titanium?

Yes im using this type of tool, the older version...

Bro, mind to tell me which version (latest now is V1.3, just updated few days ago) you are using? I thought this tool only suitable to be used for version EUR-xxx? Mine just updated to JB and the version is P88020a-ESA-xxx.

BTW, as mentioned, I've updated my phone to JB yesterday. I still not plugging my sim card and using the phone as per my ICS system few days ago. However, I observe one big different is the battery drain is very fast in JB. Yesterday after updated the os, my phone battery still 70%+, but this morning already drop to 35% only. As compare to ICS, with the same condition it only drop <5% only. Is it normal?

So, sounds like the battery drain is common for JB on our phone, never thought the upgrade is becoming more worse on battery.
If maintain the stock JB rom, with just iodak kernel will improve it?

BTW, I see that for the one click tool mentioned jsut now, the latest version is V1.3, which it stated the feature as below :

•Added Requirement Window (Phone Has To Be On Android 4.1.2 Or Above)

•Changed Rooting Method [As The "adb reboot recovey" Command Is Only Possible With An Insecure (/Unsecure) Boot Image]

•Updated TWRP (Now Version 2.6.0.0)

•Updated Optimus Prime Kernel (Now v 2.53)

May I know is this tool also inclusive the flashing of optimus prime kernel? What if I want to use iodak one?

Ok, I've downloaded the one click tool, ver 1.2. Here's the menu of the selection :
May I know do I need to install all?

Attached Image

On option 9, kernel and rom selection. It only has iodak v7 available, no v6. How can I add in?

I think I stuck at the very first step, rooting.
I use the one click option 1 for Root function. After few click my phone restart within sec, however I don't see the superuser icon in the app folder, think still not rooted, right?
May I know how to check whether is my phone rooted or not?

Yup, actually the first think it prompt me is the ADB install, but I also has the newer version 3.10 installed earlier, that's why I've skipped it.
So, after select Root option, need to press the vol up + power button, I never do it and let it shut off and reboot itself (no instruction given in this tool). I'll try later with your propose method and see whether can enter recovery mode or not.
