Yours look great too!! Couldn't find it at my local dealer.

I'm not sure whether it's JDM or international version. The model number is WZ0251EL  biggrin.gif

Mine was originally in steel bracelet.
Yours shud be ard 1.7k retail price right? Bracelet was 100 extra.

JDM the back rotor - orient star word is black
Intl - the word in gold. Different style as well.

Mind telling me what the 2 digit on the case back. The one beside the WR.
Trying to know more on the codes meaning. Haha

Yeap, the list price is 1.7k.

The word is in black with "Made in Japan" engraved at the case back, I guess it's JDM?

Beside WR, the code is M9  smile.gif
*
The model WZ is JDM.
Even the Intl is made in Japan.

Mine states N4. Still don't really know what it represents.

Most intl model has this rotor

However, Everdying mentioned JDM also got.

Very confusing. And Orient doesn't state the movement on their rotor like Seiko.

the older OS with gothic fonts had gold lettering.
ppl say 2 hole with black font is apparently JDM...but this has 2 hole and gold font whistling.gif
user posted image

not sure where the rumor started on gold / black being international / JDM.
maybe its cos of what the OS international site shows.

tho it doesnt explain why the distro here brings in so-called JDM versions of the classic / retrograde, when the international models are available.
i would guess instead that one is asian market since they been available here for quite a few yrs already, and the gold font is for european / US market to make it look more attractive to the white boys.
*
I also read that the 4hole gold font are international as well.
The one you got there i have not seen yet.

But when i collected my watch, there was WZ0241EL, WZ0251EL and the Intl gold EL05001W.
Both the JDM was with 2 hole black font while the Intl was 4hole gold font. So i kinda assume it's how they differenciate hmm.gif

It's kind of confusing rclxub.gif and to be honest, i like the look of the gold one more. thumbup.gif
Was hoping that it would be cheaper as well like Seiko Int;/JDM difference. But that's not the case. sad.gif
Wish they provide more info on the movement as well. Unlike Seiko which has like 5-6 diff movement for the Seiko 5. Orient damn alot of diff ones.

It's just a RM100+ Casio watch with 100M water resistant lol. That's why I was asking if it was worth it to change the glass or get a new watch (suggested by my uncle). The back of the watch states that the model is MTD-1061.

I will definitely check out the G-Shock watches mentioned by sniper on the roof. Thanks.
EDIT: I found my watch's same exact model and its picture from google. This is the watch.

Seiko Chrono Quartz with Sapphire can get below 500.
Orient Auto with sapphire - 700 and above can get.
Browse around. And don't window shop only. Retail price are always higher, need to ask. biggrin.gif

My latest purchase...

I love the "sunburst" effect of the dial, the blue second hand and the blue stitches on the black leather strap.

Here are more photos of this same model but not snapped by me:

Does this SARB065 come in sapphire or hardlex crystal?
Different website seems to list it differently.
icon_question.gif

Are Seiko SARB equivalent to Orient's Orient Star? Or should they be in the Seiko Premier bracket?

SARB is a model classification, not a brand like orient star, nor a line like seiko premier.

the SARB i think falls under seiko's Mechanical line of JDM watches.
there is a similar JDM seiko spirit range, tho i dont think got anymore automatics within that range.
and of cos there are price overlaps with the international seiko premier line.

orient star also overlaps in prices, but also have models that are more expensive than the SARB range.
so yea, if want to compare SARB will have to be the classic range in orient star lineup.
both are pretty similar, tho the SARB movement i guess alittle bit more refined...but the orient star classic is cheaper.
*
I beliive most of the classic SARB are in the Seiko Presage line which has alot of classic dress watch and open hearts.
The price are pretty decent too. I remember a open heart Presage at RM850+. That's why am not sure whether it can be compared to Orient Star.

Saving and planning for my next buy, prolly end of this year.
Should i go for a Seiko Presage SARB or Tissot Visodate?
Or is there any others that you guys can recommend at below 2.2k range.

something that I've been wondering, not sure how most guys pull off with a 40-42mm watch...I'm only 162cm and 65kg (yeah a little plum). don't seems to have many choice for something bigger within that similar budget/brands right? most of my mates comment that I look weird with a 40mm...

kinda digging the breitling superocean 44...could be a good option too right?
*
I got a 5.5inch hand, and the biggest one i have is a 41mm w/o crown.
It's sad when you can't wear some other nice piece. But on the bright side, it's easier to choose coz there's not much choice.

Saving up for a new purchase probably at the end of the year.
Looking at Seiko SARB Presage, Orient Star Retrogade or go Swiss with Tissot Visodate.
Which one you guys think is a better buy or any other opinions??

Auto and preferably below 42mm (skinny hands)
Budget below 2.2k
Thanks

I prefer the SARB. The cocktail time posted recently (forgot if its this or the Seiko thread) looks so sweet.

The Visodate disproportionately large day/date window a bit kacau. Also don't like the pressure fit caseback.

The Orient Star imo looks a bit too busy. Off topic, maybe its just me but can't get over the fake "HEV" on the Mako and the fake "moonphase" on the Sun&Moon below.

It looks very nice and was quite surprised at the pricing.. then realized its priced like that for a reason  doh.gif

Can you explain to me what you mean by fake moonphase? rclxub.gif
Nearly bought that one last year tongue.gif but it was too big for my wrist.

Hi guys,

I don't see much mentioned or fans of Citizen.
Is there a particular reason? Anyone has experience with this brand?
Was looking at their Eco-Drive watches and the look pretty good. Some are titanium as well.
And they have 3yrs warranty.

Yeah, I know. That's why im looking for watch shops. Ok, will go do survey in all places.

Btw, called Time Galaxy also. They said they dont bring in this model also. Its Summer 2012 model actually.

Thanks smile.gif
*
I recommend you visit the shops instead of calling.
If you're personally there you might able to convince them to order for you. Takes awhile but no harm waiting. But u gotta convince them that if it arrives, u'll buy it la. Not order to test size and looks.
That's what i do for Seiko and Orient. Not sure of the stocks for fossil.
There's a few online seller in LYN. Can ask them as well.

With a budget of below 7k for a brand new watch.
I've notice brands like, Tissot, Oris, Mido, Epos, Edox, Longines, Nomos and maurice (not sure whether in this price range), which one would be a better brand in term of quality and brand heritage (automatic movement)?

Would like to see your views on this as the amount of options you have, how do you guys decide on the brand you choose.

Nomos get my vote here.
Otherwise try a frederique constant manufacture

Is frederique constant in that price range?
Just found out Mido are in a higher price range. biggrin.gif

nomos get my vote too, especially their clean and simple dressy line

Yeah, i like Nomos as well.
But it seems that it is mostly hand wind.
The auto diameter is a tad bigger for my liking.
Is it available in any retail outlets here?

Rm$7k why not?
http://www.gemnation.com/watches/Frederiqu...nt/watches.html

Mido that high? Which model u looking at?
http://www.righttime.com/rt/mido/midowatches.htm

Nomos watches wear big and the bezel is narrow. U get more dial. With your budget cannot find any auto nomos.
At best a nomos club manual at 38.5mm.
Not its glashutte tradition to have 3/4 plate. Auto movent how to show it off?
They don't have AD here, closest is SG even so they don't carry much in stock need to order.

Get a limes
http://www.limes-uhren.de/index_EN.php?sit...alt-Pharo-GD-EN

I normally check the retail prices here:
http://mywatchgallery.com.my/
It shows Mido is priced quite high in MY

Nomos auto still has the display case back. Just with a rotor. Still looks pretty good. Was looking at the Zurich line.
But size is 39.5mm and price is over budget.

Limes just doesn't sound right. haha

Some Ang mo like nomos 35mm as the 37mm looks big.
With regards to display back, I know that and u didn't get the pt, forget it then.

good luck hunting, u got to learn to keep a open mind.

Here is another local online retailer

Ahhh.. Now i get what you mean doh.gif
Apologies for the misunderstanding. rclxub.gif
Kinda noob when it comes to movements, especially non-japanese ones.
1st time looking for a non-jap mechanical watch.

but then, i stumbled upon this thread.. been reading few pages..
is there any other options apart from casio i can get with max 500?
i know the budget is really small, compared to the watches u guys been discussing here..
but yeah, thats all i can afford.. heheh

another thing, i'd like to try a leather strap.. coz been using steel for too long..

There's alot of Seiko Quartz chrono in that price range. Auto limited options.
Orient can get auto and quartz with this price range. But mostly auto will be simple dress designs.
