for a newbie like me how long should i spend for build a MG gundam? biggrin.gif
*
Yo...sorcecold...there is no time limit on the duration u hv 2 finish the kit. Juz take your time to assemble it to your liking. Rush job always give bad results.

Anyway, since it is ur 1st time. Take some time to get familiar wif the basic modelling techniques...U would not want to spoil a nice MG kit.. laugh.gif

Juz managed to finish assembling my Wing Zero after 2 months sweat.gif
(Pic a little blur coz take wif my hp cam)

oic... but i dunno nail cutter can use like that  sweat.gif

Progressing well there Sorcecold. Depends, most ppl like to use Black Fine Tip Gundam Marker to do the lining...it giv a more 'anime' like effect. Some like to use gray colour for panel lining, they claim it giv a more 'realistic' feel. I use black myself, n it does look anime-like....next time plan to use gray instead.

About the removing of the excess runner (i.e. plastic), some experts use this simple technique, which i would like to try for my next project.:

1) Cut as much excess runner as u can, leaving 1mm or so
2) Sand it using 600 grit sandpaper
3) Wet sand using 1000 or 1200 grit sand paper.....voila!!!

thumbup.gif Keep up the good work man!

The uncle on the 2nd floor always got a promotion for certain stuff. Usually until the promotional item finshes the stock.

But sometimes got 1 day specials.

Well, wouldn't it be nice for everyone to post up some information on sales around the LHS?

So, every1 can get their Model at cheap cheap price rclxms.gif

seems alot ppl like to use finger...erm juz be reminded to wash your hand well  blush.gif
the best combination for achieving thin panel lining would be usage of eraser marker and tissue wiping
usage of finger and eraser are usable method but theres also issue of hard to reach area , uneven panel lines and more importantly excess eraser can enter panel lines and alot more issues
*
For hard reaching area...i sometimes use toothpick...those sharp sharp 1...cover the sharp tip with some thin layer of tissue and to the cleaning....can give quite good results

Owner of 1/60 strike freedom lightning edition, please come forward. The ques is

a) Is it worth the $$$ for this kit??? Any advice and reviews???
*
Well, I'm not the owner of Lightning Strike Freedom, but i dun think it is worth the $$. The proportion of this kit is not that good...it juz look funny to me...u can go to Dalong.net to check out his review on this kit.....Juz my 2 cents

About the problem of unable to take out the parts once u guys snap fit ur Zeta V2.0, did u guys trim/cut the 'male' part (the one going into the hole of the other part...hopefully did not sound too obscene laugh.gif ) into half? If u do that, it is much easier to take it off. I use this technique on my MG Wing Zero, and it works!
