Hey guys I need some opinion here ... It's my first time fixing up a Gundam kit, is it okay to go with Master Grade? A few of my friends told me that MG is for pros only sweat.gif
*
no, your friend probably taunted you
its not that difficult, but you probably can't build the model perfectly, alot of technique and concentration involved, all you need is heart and time, patience is virtue
probably why he says is for pro is coz the dang manual is in japanese, for starters mistake could happen, so u need to read well the illustration
if u dun mind for mistake, learn with an MG kit, prepare thin cutter and other emergency kit incase u snapped a part wrongly, if u read well i assure you, your first kit will be well built!

I'm just not prepared to keep old stock. If I was really making some profit, then I wouldn't mind. But seriously...I'm not. Let's just say a COD trip (drive) would eat all of my profit...and maybe more wink.gif
*
yea u need more plans to maximize ur profit, find a better supplier or decrease the number of visits (example find price by calling the shop? ) , with better management u will definately attain better profits. I know u dun wan to keep old stocks, we discuss this b4 remember tongue.gif

dreamworks: thats the great start for your journey to the gundam world! well encouraged lad rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

Very hard to say which shop sell the cheapest
some of them will have promotion on certain Gundam
but other Gundam might more expensive than others

Anyway you can try GT (Time Square 7th floor)
they have a lot of Gundam which is cheaper than other shops
but very limited choices
*
u must be real tired bro
GT is Time Square 5th floor tongue.gif
7th Floor is Time Machine

friggin big psycho gundam! juz look at the arm, its huge and rough shocking.gif

*
lol well..the box stores the runners, not the assembled model yet tongue.gif

Our bro StormV won the "New Entry Winner" in last year BAKAC (Gundam modeling contest)
so of course he knows a lot biggrin.gif

Bout the sand paper
you can get it at normal hardware store
buy no. 1000 & above (the no. higher means more fine)

I know some people will immerse the parts into hot water (not boiling water)
to remove the oil that stick on the parts
then when you paint, it can attach better on the surface
*
i tried finding sand paper 1000 and above in hardware shop...no luck at all
have to buy the expensive tamiya sand paper
before this i used the ultra rough sand paper ( i dont know the grade tongue.gif ) which i though can use ( frm hardware shop) and end up murdering my models laugh.gif

You can't find it?
Try to search for few shops & I'm sure you can get it
Don't use below 1000 to sand your model
it'll only use when you want to get rid of some extra glue or plastic

OT:
Congrate for getting the MG Aile Strike  biggrin.gif
*
i find around 2-3 shops oso dun have T_T
maybe need to find more specialized hw shop
OT2: its a freedom not aile! i actually asked for both..sob..but got 1 only

i prefer using a file to remove the excess then use 'fine' grade sandpaper..
*
is it more effective with file? any grade with file? tongue.gif
i ask the hardware shop for effective things to sand...they showed me the file..but it looks damn rough...no idea if it would be effective or not

Aiyah sand paper also troble so much ah ...
yes ACE arware is in Ikano and yes they have 1200 sand paper cost about 2.xx a pcs ... if u in side ACE harware shop, check out the follwing few item that regular modeller need...
Pen knife set (inside the Close Room next to cashier) about 16.XX, small drill bit 1.0, 2.0 mm 3.xx each ... pen knife refill/blade ... 7.xx set,
Future yes i find it in ACE also 48.xx (waaah),
Windex Yes can find in ACe Also,
Fourmula 409 yes can be found in most SupperMArket Also ... 9.xx a bottle...
for Filler i saw one in Enoes JJ 1U, about 16.xx set,
bondite epoxy putty i got from H/W shop near my place (hihi)

as for my choice of sanding i use Nail Filler (12.xx a set) that u get from watson 3 pcs set 1 for cleaning, 1 for shine and 1 for conditioner ... trust me the cleaning and shine stick is the best ...  u can sand and end up with smooth finsinhing ... great for those that dont want to paint their model .... can use for long long time .... just brush of and u can use it again .... hehehe ....

so u just use Knife to scrap the unsmooth surface (90deg method/dont cut) then sand it off with nail filler then finsih it with shine stick .. and see the result ??

notworthy.gif
*
taiko..very advanced la ur explanaition...blur oledi rclxub.gif

Nail filler is the item name? apa brand? so if i use that still need sand paper or nail filler is the sanding tools? hehe sowee for noobie question
got pic of the nail filler?

lol phase shift..seems some ppl get excited bout it tongue.gif
looks so plain to me, i would rather buy 2 aile and color it with a cool phase shift color , this one looks so plain to me
unless...er it comes with some figures..i would think about it

thx honeymic for the info
but the problem right now i want a non-disposable thing to sand my models..the spendings on sand paper is very heavy
i got my self some mini file yesterday..seems to do the trick..only thing i tend to over sand it..causes unperfect looks on the models
