Well, kct-86, if this is your first major GunPla, then you should choose the right one, so that it'll be really something memorable. Everyone here still remember their very first GunPla?

If you liked the Zeta series (although the ZetaPlus C1 is actually from Gundam Sentinel, but it's still pretty close) or you have a thing for older, stonger stories with a touch of Macross/TransFormers feature, then the MG ZetaPlus C1 is the one for you. But if you like the stylistic manner of the GS series, and like models with really good articulation and posability, then get the MG Aile Strike Gundam then. It's all up to your major preferences.  biggrin.gif

Then, when you feel like getting another one, then why not get the other model of your choice then?  tongue.gif
Right on. Thus I don't buy any GunPla from the GSD series at all.  whistling.gif
To sorcecold: We demand that you assemble that MG Wing Zero of yours...  laugh.gif

To Dark Lynx: I myself do like the HCM Pro series, they're cute little buggers, definitely more fun than the MSiA series.  smile.gif But how are they priced? I kinda forgot how much one roughly costs...

T eyerule: What do you mean by landing stick? Are you refering to the model stand or the landing gear pieces?
*
well my first gundam is a cute SD impulse tongue.gif
so happy when wake up get to see it beside my bed
im sure u want that kind of feeling icon_idea.gif

what u dunno the price ? cry.gif thats the important thing i wanna ask
saw b4 at litt tak sg wang at around rm 40+ each..knowing the litt tak reputation as meat cutter, thats kinda weird price

OK, Aile Strike Gundam is OUT. Too expensive for me.

Zeta Plus C1 then >.> .
*
erm what price u get for that?
its not coz the price is expensive, most gundams modeller buy at the right time, on normal occasion its very expensive lol, try find promotions, it will be worthwhile
i believe for the sake of hobby, u shud not put price on priority. you might end up with a model you don't really love
yes 1/100 or 1/144 make your choice hehe, of course there are pro and cons on each

with 1/100 size MG/HG , its more expensive, you need more space but its worthwhile and much satisfaction after completing it

with 1/144 size NG/HG, cheaper but less detailed, but you can buy a whole army of gundams sweat.gif and it wont take much space , plus u can hide it from your mum flex.gif

Found the Aile Strike for RM239 plus-minus at Low Yat there. Other places more expensive, or don't have.

Maybe I have to hide it too <.< .

EDIT: Does the C1 only have skid landing gears? I find it weird (don't mind the colour) <.< .
*
woa..thats normal malaysian price..suprisingly u found that price at low yat..which shop? 1st floor?
u can try order from young_soul / sorcecold 's gundam bulk in the garage sales, ask them to quote for u the price, shud be much cheaper but u have to wait coz its buy from japan

i dont think it has tyres for landing, u only find those commonly in macross lol, usually made of die cast

erm i hide mine too , but was found out shakehead.gif

lol i think the 1/144 is just too small, theres no technique to learn, more for collection..if collection i would recommend HCM Pro series rclxm9.gif
im not sure why u mention MKII is the most poseble one, and i havent got a MKII yet sweat.gif
i start with at least 1/100 HG, learn alot from there, i started with no tools too, lol, didn't survive long, no cutters, high grade sand papers, markers makes the gundam looks dull

akira de aimbuster : nice looking sword impulse there, could've be bettter if u put a full sized background blush.gif

MG gyan looks like a good start biggrin.gif
strike noir looks wacky but all the same (salvaged parts , refurbished gundam look sweat.gif )
amatu looks kinda bulky, gotta see the specs of the gundam soon biggrin.gif , now unless it has some hidden mode (crab mode anyone? laugh.gif ) that would be interesting purchase
F91 MG...argg...not the perfect look i always wanted..dillema rclxub.gif
HGUC GP02A..now thats kinda cool..chibi bazooka..wee rclxms.gif

p/s sorcecold : i saw that G gundam too, and someone still selling it recently blink.gif

The G Gundam was seen in LT Warehouse sales
I'm not sure how much they sell it since not interested in it biggrin.gif

Dark Lynx:
You should get some baddie MS
Most of the MG for baddie got a nice build
especially those weird type of MS like AcGuy, Z'gok, Gogg, etc.
you will know how good the design of the inner frame when you play around with it biggrin.gif

There are some cool baddie MS also
Personally I like Gouf Custom, Zeong, Rick-Dom, GP-02A
I'm bored with Gundam MS nowadays since they all look alike
*
yes i have noted those baddies quite popular among modellers too
would actually wanna see a series where the baddies actually triumph hehe
gundam seed destiny is the only series with no actual non-gundam unit! zaku till the end lol. come on, bring out sazabi vII bandai biggrin.gif
thx will give it some consideration thumbup.gif

QUOTE(Fodder Soldier @ Jun 2 2006, 02:13 AM)
to Dark Lynx:
Yes, popular baddie MSs are indeed one of the unique traits of the Gundam models industry. Back when super robot anime was prevalent, the only figures made was the hero robots, since the baddies weren't as significant, being a monster-of-the-week one-time appearance only. But when Mobile Suit Gundam premiered into the mass media, bringing in the 'Realistic Robot' concept along its wake, it revolutionized the toy industry in Japan. With the scale clearly marked, these models can be put together with other similarly scaled military models to create realistic dioramas. This was a very attractive feature to many military model fans. The GunPla MSs demonstrated the imaginative adaptation of development and usage in different combat environments. It also further emphasized the role of MS as weapons (rather than heroes) and encouraged modelers to freely exercise their creativity, thus the realistic mecha concept of GunPla gradually shifted the models away from toys to become display items. Even the baddie robots, which rarely gets released as toys or models, are becoming merchandise, proof that the Gundam anime showcased a sense of equal footing between two opposing sides, sometimes  the 'evil' Zeon side actually getting more support than the 'good' Earth Federation, something not usually seen in previous one-sided mecha anime. And this effect is clearly seen in the selection of GunPla as well.

You want to see series' where the bad guys actually make a difference? Welcome to the Universal Century timeline. Want some real iconic baddies? Let's see; Zaku II, Dom, Zugock, Acguy, Gouf, Gelgoog, Zeong, Kaempfer, Gundam Physalis, Gerbera Tetra, Psyco Gundam, Palace Athene, The O, Quebeley, Zaku III, Jagd Doga, Sazabi, Berga Giros, Vigna Ghina, Zollidea, Shokew, Contio, La la la... Come to think of it, almost every single baddie (non-Gundam and otherwise) in the UC timeline can kick arse, and actually have a unique character attributed to it, hence making them real memorable; unlike the usual non-Gundam baddies in SEED, who are more relegated to background fillers and sometimes just as cannon fodder, being usually impersonalized, thus insignificant. And that's my 2 cents.  smile.gif
*
yes i've seen most of the HGUC episodes, pretty cool, love 083 the most , weak earth pilot did the impossible, compared to newtypes or coordinators rclxms.gif
actually in gundam seed they tried to do the same, where seed shows the story from earth federation view and in destiny they show it from zaft view. perhaps its a bad thing about cosmic era, they wanted to potray mobile suits that is so tough to withstand beams (not without an I-field those days tongue.gif ) . Also whats more important is the fight battles, in UC battles are more exciting, one false move and we asked "he's dead?" , character utilizing space environments and surroundings as tactical advantage , also ,not so kiddies trash talk ( example ideology talk between amuro and char ) and best of all, protoganist mobile suits that can actually blow up sweat.gif
er is Gerbera Tetra GP04? which episode that appear one? drool.gif
QUOTE(Godevil @ Jun 2 2006, 02:25 AM)
Yup, I do keep. And the cupboard from MGs too....
*
yea my gundam is outside, what worries me is the boxes, i kept them in cupboard , i don't wanna make them flat cry.gif
another question (hardcore) , do u all keep the left over runners ? lol
QUOTE(whoami123 @ Jun 2 2006, 09:19 AM)
UC series is more towards realistic world
that's why I like this series more than other series
the Gundam in UC is not like others so powerful until non other MS can fight
furthermore the Gundam design is more mechanical look  rclxms.gif

In UC series, no side is totally good or bad
it's war between the space colony & earth
not good vs. baddies
so the "good guy" will switch side sometimes
like in Gundam 0079, many people will take Earth Federation as good guys side
but in Gundam Z, Earth Federation become baddies already

To be honest, I don't like Gundam Seed Destiny at all
the first thing I dislike is because too much of MS, especially Gundam type
the anime is more like a Gundam show off more than emphasize on the story itself
Sunrise should make a stop after Gundam Seed finished
GSD is just like dragging the story & let them earn more money only
No more Gundam Seed sequel !
*
i love bazookas biggrin.gif and they dun have any in C.E yawn.gif
erm one more thing, in gundam seed, i find it too colourful for my eyes. Some say its new anime quality, i mean, you don't need to blast a rainbow coloured beam from freedom icon_question.gif
yes, i think sunrise should concentrate finishing up the gundam evolve series instead, they did a great job on that thumbup.gif

U can put a little water on the line and rub it off to make a fine line. Or else, u can use tissue paper/cotton bud to 'clean' the mess n make a fine line. Some oso use eraser to rub off the wriggly lines n make it straight n fine. Although, there r many more ways, juz use the 1 that u r more comfortable n produce the best effects.  wink.gif
P/S: U dun 1 ur gundam to look like 80yr old Apek wif all wrinkles on its face  laugh.gif
*
i think for certain parts should line it before snapping it.
yet to try it with water, gotta try laugh.gif
i believe gundam eraser marker also uses water as the medium of removal

juz noticed this is the 1000th reply rclxm9.gif

I think the elbow joints are designed to be like tat is it?

I din watch F91 series so i'm not sure, it's an old design after all.....

anyone watched the anime can tell is it??
*
no its not about the design old or not, im not sure what others said about old design or new what so ever, but in the anime the elbow doesn't segment to 3 parts like that. Its a small MS with 2 segment on the whole hand only. the lower segment would cover up to the upper segment above the elbow, covering the middle inner frame which we now see it as the '3rd' segment, real ugly..sorry no pic for reference

also the yellow pointers on the head, the middle ones are suppose to be point at roughly 45-60 degree, not arching top and so damn long

another bigger problem would be the body, its not fully linking with the shoulder due to its size, abit lacking, smaller than anime

and i believe the shoulders size is ok but its looking abit higher but its fine

lastly, the part under the belly (lol gundam's belly) isn't fully detailed, they probably miss out some..muhaha so its our job to add in the details

but regardless, guess i'll get this kit, probably the reason why its quite cheap and even comes with a weird stand , maybe some modification will make it cool rclxms.gif

Probably Zeta or Wing...coz they came out long ago.

Anyway...did anyone notice that Velde Buster looks a bit like Batman? laugh.gif
*
lol hands down
if its zeta or wing u call as top sales, then marginally freedom is 3rd
but definately we don't judge a sales only by past statistic, we are talking bout hot sales item and its freedom! probably they stopped taking stocks coz normally they would take in a high volume of stocks at one go
QUOTE(pussylover @ Jun 6 2006, 10:25 AM)
How bout those toys which were made with metal/aluminium? hehhe!

actually sum people dun consider gunplas as toys.. they called it as modelling kits.. coz toys would make them feel as if 5 year olds kiddies stuff..
*
QUOTE(whoami123 @ Jun 6 2006, 10:27 AM)
Nah... It won't help much if the design of the kit is already like a toy
I think it's a toy more than a real-robot model kit is because:
1) Too "colorful"
2) Design lack of "Mechanic" feel, many of the parts is not practical to be a combat MS

Anyway, it's just my own opinions
*
yes that accursed word 'toys' don't fit for a MG!
gunplas are more for art purpose than playing, thus realistic factor is very important
the amatu design gave me a very mixed feeling, toyish but fearsome look
but it definately doesn't belongs to a MG price range.
Perhaps bandai is aiming this product for younger generations, but the price tag is too high for a HG
well if i were to get toys then transformer would be better, sufficiently colourful icon_idea.gif
its colour used is very striking, perhaps its due to the gold color
update : woops its due to the picture problems! now a better look of it in ...ahh much better...see the difference between 2 of these pic

hmm, no ..thats not my point
since freedom is selling well now, why would they kill its sales now, its like throwing away your pot of rice ( in chinese tongue.gif )
i believe if u try to check your own gundam bulk sales, MG freedom would be on top chart too (based on total sales)
