Hi All,

Currently, my aged-old Labtec (>7 years) has one ear of speakers spoiled, and planning to
install a new desktop speaker for my current desktop PC.

Do you guy have any recommendations for me?
I do not set restrictions on my budget setting, but preferably under RM200.

And I am primarily using my Multimedia Speaker for listening to Music (mp3) or Watching the HD movies (mkv),
so I am actually not a fervent to tune the software which comes with the Multimedia Speaker
installation. Plug and Play would be nice to me.

A salesman approached me in Jusco (AEON---> Queensbay Mall) yesterday 01-Nov-2012, telling me that
Champ 200 or Champ 300 would be a nice masterpiece to purchase since the Vinnfier (Malaysia---> A new setup company in 2011) has the high bass performance than others speaker, even outperformed than the Logitech Z103 nor Z323 stand alone.

The Champ 200/ 300 as below:

The PC fair is undergoing for 3 days in Pisa, so I hope I could render myself with the decent Speaker ----> [Nice offer+ Good In Sound Qualities].

C'mon guys give me a thought at here and thanks in million. Arigato.................. icon_rolleyes.gif

Erm... just sharing my thought, I also looking for a set of nice speaker atm. High probability I will go for Logitech speaker. Vinnfier simply import from china and put their name, which makes me felt their product not so reliable.

Yeah, just done the survey, the Vinnfier, is a very suck model brand, the sound coming out is distorted, much to the degree likes you are placing your ears next to your "Radio Speaker", you are constantly hearing the buzzing sound and a lot of the mix sounds, much likes White Noise to me also. My friend from Radiasys strongly discouraged me to go for this Model Brand. The verdict is "No Go" for Vinnfier even though their features are pretty impressive given the price as cheap as RM179 for Champ 300, in which you can fully utilize their USB port and SD Card Reader slot to play songs from your external storage (PenDrive).

However, one brand model really caught sight of me. I have round and round in the PC Fair in Pisa (This Week, Just yesterday). Among the arena of Speaker's Maker said (Edifier, Sonic Gear, Divoom, Vinnfier and Salpido), I would highly recommend Salpido, the saleperson hard sale on their Tron 101, and putting a price of RM159 for me. To me, the price for RM159 is pretty pricey since RM119 I can get the same model from Lowyat Cycom, I would try to my best to press him reduce to around RM120 for me, hehe.................. thumbup.gif

Below is the picture of Tron 101, available in Grey or White Colour. The downside is their speakers (Subwoofer+ Speaker, 2.1 Channels) do not have the metal grill for me, in which the cone speakers can be easily torn apart by the sharp objects such the tip of the Ballpoint Pen.

Dude, by the way, what model in Logitech you would give in the consideration, perhaps:
Logitech Z323

or
Logitech Z313

or
Logitech Z103

Topten Review, gave Logitech Z320 in the third place for the speaker Overall performance.

Those low budget Logitech speaker systems do not have tweeters thus the trebles won't be that great. Some online reviews are not always accurate. The best thing is to ask for demo and judge for yourself. What's your budget? hmm.gif

Usually for RM159 to RM179 range, look for Edifier E3100 (if you can still find this model)... wink.gif

And a bit higher than that (for around RM199) look for Edifier M3400. cool.gif

Thanks, Lex,

Your info is valuable to me, because I am not the avid music listener, so my budget is around RM200.
The accompanion of the New Speaker said Edifier 3100 would not be staying long, since I planned to further study, and
the New Speaker would be oblivious from me in my living room.

Lex, I also found that, PC Dot Com (In Penang) is selling Edifier E3100 (2.1 Ch) at the price of RM 139, kinda of plummeting price to me.

Lex, your other link was also helpful to me, in determining my budget RM in corresponding to the Decent Speaker set
I could get from the market, too bad, most of the Decent Speakers posted in that forum are attributed to the gaming players,
unlike me place the emphasis on Movies+ Music.

Can you elaborate, what is the main function of the embedded Tweeter Speaker?
As I know, the Tweeter help to boost up the pitch (High Screaming Sound) from the player's file.
But I could not know what is the real output experiences if I really had the Tweeter in my Speaker Set.

Hi Power911,

Do you know any Speakers' Sellers in Penang which do sale the Edifier E3100/ M3400
all together in their Showrooms? Currently, I was able to find E3100 in PCdotcom which
is located in Bayan Lepas, but not to the M3400. PC Depot only advocates to Model Logitech+ Sonic Gear only. cry.gif

I wanna make comparison, by listening to these Two Mastermind Speakers, before I
make the final verdict. Of course, that time would be the time for me to install the New
Speaker in my new living room liao.

Well, I have a feeling that the Edifier E3100 may be EOL'ed soon. This speaker system used all wood construction for both satellites and subwoofer, which is very rare for speakers of this budget range. They are very decent speakers. However if you could find and afford the Edifier M3400 (which incidentally is also all wood construction) then that would be even better. That Edifier M3400 should be within your budget and is suitable for movies, music and gaming. nod.gif

The tweeter adds more ambience, definition and detail to the sound, especially for high frequency content such as females voice, choir, a-cappella, cymbals, hi hats, various sound effects, etc. If you had ever noticed, most higher end speaker systems (including HiFi speakers) have tweeters while most low end speaker systems do not have tweeters. Thus speaker systems with tweeters are much more preferable. cool.gif

I bought myself a Vinnfier521,IMO the best among all vinnfier series. was tempted to get the champ 300 or champ 200...but their sound quality seriously disapoints me. CHamp 200 was very not clear, the clarity is horrible..for champ 300 the clarity is better but the bass was a disapointment. In the end the vinnfier 521 was the overall better choice for me..u can try to find this model if it has over there

Hi PPZ,

You have budget to push to =RM 300 (Nearly). I have helped you surveyed on this Z506-Logitech, the cheapest price you can get
from the market (Lelong) is about RM 269, and this is excluding with their courier fee.

And your "Little Monster" looks like this:

And about the sound quality, I would give it a green light. Please help to read on below review and find on their comments.

But, if you have more "Bullets", you can consider X-540, selling at RM 359 in lelong.com.my.

But more importantly, please ask the seller (PC's assistant) to demo the set for you, sometimes their successor is no better than their predecessor as in the case of EV0 3 Pro vs EVO 5 Pro, but this is not to "Blacksheep" for the remaining series in Evo Pro.

Hope this can really serve a great tools in determining the right set for your taste+ right value for your money ($$$$).

Ciao.

Hi Jaroque,
How much you bought??? and How was the sound for this masterpiece??? Can describe for me????
Does it base its sound on "Bass" over "Treble" or Vice-versa? Or they finally put a well-balance on Bass and Treble together, working in a harmony state????

Hi Lex,

Thanks for your clarification on Tweeter. Fortunate enough, there is a specialist shop (Edifier) who still sells on this brand in Prangin Mall.
I personally try to distinguish the sound by its bass and treble. However, I still find E3100 enticing to me, the clarity is good as compared to M3400.
M3400 is putting its weigh on Bass over the Treble when playing a certain song. Definitely M3400 has lost its charm on its treble.

However, the Shopkeeper (Prangin Mall) recommended me to consider M 3300 if I am going to select, E3100. Both E3100 and M 3300 seems to be
on the comparatively good bar for me. Good Clarity ( Bass+ Treble) well-balancing. But I have the propensity to choose E3100 than M 3300, perhaps this
tight to my personally taste. FYI- M 3300 is not fully enclosed with wooden enclosure.

But above all, what had disappointed me is that, the price set by them is cutting my throat, E 3100 is selling at RM 190, M 3400 sells at RM 235 and
M 3300 sells at RM 275. They are not shy to stack up the price (A RM 50 higher than the market price), and better yet this is their best bargain for me.
What a disingenuous in dealing business with customer. Customer are easily tipped-off when the price is unreasonable higher than the market price especially
the models are few-years old already.
