I had used both of the hp before.. just that kinda get bored with samsung display icon and display.. The display is a bit too cartoonish... (currently using S2)I used htc hd2 before, issue with that phone is overheat and battery drain like waterfall.. Which seriously trouble me a lots.. Another thing i dont like about htc is the background display for application is black in colour...

things i dont like about samsung is the phone ocassionally shut down itself, the display and colour not really that nice, and the PPI is kinda low. Unlike HTC and Sony.. The screen size is too huge and wonder if i really gonna use all the S applications...

Hai guys wanna ask

1)is it that there is a huge improvement using android v4.0 ICS compared to Android v2.3 gingerbread. Android 4.0 ICS much more smoother right?
2)A dual core vs single core phone. Dual core much more smoother as well? Can add Quad Core to comparison as well.
3)How much ram is enough? Having more rams can do multitasking better? 512mb vs 1 gb. Huge diff?

With RM 800 budget, what is the best android phone available?

TQ

HTC one X or Samsung galaxy nexus. Best is wait for LG nexus 4 just in case it's cheap.

QUOTE(Cranky guy @ Nov 14 2012, 05:09 PM)
I have used the CSL Mi501 for a month now, and everything seems fine to me. The quality is a LOT more better than most other CSL phones, and it feels quite premium too.

It scored 5989 on Antutu, so it performs quite well for it's price. The 512 ram, although thought by many to be unusable, is sufficient for the phone.

My main problem is the camera. Video recording to be exact. You can only record up to 480p, but I guess thats what you get for the price.

Battery life can last the whole day with gaming, wifi, phone calls and etc, which is very satisfying. Browsing is fast and easy. The phone is also very responsive.

The casings for this phone are going on sale this Saturday, which I will take a look at soon.

Overall, this is a really good phone in it's price range, and is something that all budget conscious users should consider.

Dude! thx for sharing.. I bet CSL is not bad afterall isn't it.

I am wondering, ppl say this good and this bad here in forum. For me, the best solution is to feel the phone by your hand and decide. BTW, its your own money right. So to strengthen my final decision, Today I drove to Sunway Pyramid for a true self experience of two of my what-to-choose dual sim phone. I went to the HTC Hub but unfortunately the dual sim of theirs, Desire V don't have a display unit. They only displayed their high end product. What to expect. So, I went to a shop there which provide a live displayed of:

Ninetology Stealth i7520

The owner suggesting Stealth i7520 instead of Desire V. Cheaper price with better performance. But its only lack of the LCD quality. So, he hand over the Stealth and my first impression.......... WHAT A BIG PHONE! lolz... 5.2 inch displayed for RM799. Come with Digi starter pack, Screen protector, Original pouch, Tangled free earpiece etc in the box. When power up, there is a nice Red Ninetology logo. Swapping speed is acceptably smooth. And Camera functioning out very clear with great quality.

The Pros:
- Big 5.2 inch screen
- Camera quality as said by Stealth forummer, it is like 8 Megapixel camera.
- +1 for the design and color

The Cons:
- Screen too big. For me maximum 5.0 inch for a phone.
- Digi preload sim. There's a Digi sim card in one of the sim slot an sticker attached to the sim with a warning sign 'warranty will void if removed'. Although some of the forummer said that the warranty still can be claim even it is removed, but its kinda bugging me. I wanna used with my own sim card. I dont need a pre-load sim. And for me, Digi is not supposed to paste warning sticker. I mean seriously, phone made by others and u claim the warranty will void if removed the sticker. Who are u to take action like that.

CSL Mi501

I moved to the other shop and searching CSL model. Mi501 is right in front of me. First glance........... Err.. OK.. (Maybe bcoz I am more to square edge phone. This phone has round edge). First swap of my finger.... WOW, Smooth! (as expected of 1.2 GHz dual core processor) I try launch some of the apps and post some widget. Amazingly there is no lag at all as the well known other android phone. The screen is slightly smaller than stealth, 5.0 inch. But the drawback is the camera. Although the its stated 5MP (Same as Stealth, 5MP stated), but the camera is pretty decent. But, who cares. I am not that type of photogenic guy. Oh BTW, this set is also RM799 retail price.

The Pros:
- 1.2 GHz Dual core processor
- can compare the smoothness effect with ninetology. Stealth got a little lag on transition but still acceptable as it is single core.

The Cons:
- Camera quality is pretty decent.
- I dont like the striking red colour for backside of the phone. But this is solved if u are using cover later on.

The Decision
In the end I choose CSL Mi501 for my dual sim phone. I think it will be good for me cause I am more attracted with the performance of the phone and not design. CSL Mi501 is a dual core 1.2 GHz, which Stealth i7520 is only single core 1.0 GHz. I heard that Stealth 2 will coming out soon. But still I heard the rumors its only upgrade the single core to dual core with same core speed 1.0 GHz. Anyway, thx guys for helping me deciding which is the best dual sim phone for the current market especially bro XeactorZ, danielcmugen, AC_ryan94, vostro78, and Cranky guy for his personal experiences.

I hope with my sharing, it might help ppl who's on the same boat as me. Cheers! thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

custom jellybean on S2 quite matured already.
very stable and much2 better than it was before.
now i can play 2.5GB BRrip video on it smoothly without any lag or sound skip
which is impossible before even on stock ICS rom.

Budget : 1.8k

Is getting a S3 now worth it? Heard that S4 will be launched in next half a year. S3 is cheaper than Note 2 of course.

I like everything in Note 2, but dislike the price tag and size.

Best smartphone in that price range, CSL Mi501 if you want a large screen, dual sim and dual core. If you want a smaller screen, dual core but only need one sim, Xperia Sola, U and go. If you want a large phone with a complete package but only one core, Ninetology Stealth.
