Custom ROM? out very long ago... Omega and wanamlite based on stock DLJ4..

Well, i flashed from ICS stock to Malaysia JB stock... feel not good with DLJ1, then flashed to Omega. Yesterday flashed to wanamlite and tried... today flashed back Omega coz like it more. (wanamlite is good also, just personal preference)

Im not a pro, but from all the flashing here and there... just follow the steps below, won't go wrong.

1) Backup using Titanium Backup (All users data and system data)
2) Do a Nandroid backup just in case anything happened during the flashing
3) ALWAYS wipe all data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik
4) Flash the new ROM u downloaded from SAMMOBILE or other custom ROM
5) Reboot
6) If u are flashing Malaysia stock ROM, root again
7) Restore using Titanium Backup. (FIRST restore missing apps with data. NEXT only restore all system data, select the one with GREEN colour only, RED might crash with your currect system, especially when u upgrade from ICS to JB.)
8) Reboot and you are good to go.

For your case, no need to unroot , just follow the steps above. Yeah, stock rom to stock rom

Hi bros... there is a high usage of Media Scanner especially when i reboot... so I went to clear data for drm protected content and media storage... who knows after that it wont scan my media files already. Didnt see anything under Gallery.

So what can i do to make it scan all my medias? media scanner jz won't run already..

woohoo.... slow down mate... if like this, u flash whatever ROM also will drain battery . Once u flashed a new ROM , first the battery need to stable itself 1st, normally allow 2 - 3 cycle charge, to adapt new settings, new kernel . Second, media scanner sure need time to scan again all ur files and this drains battery pretty fast.

And if u connect the USB cable to ur phone and unplugged it during the screen lock down, it drains also. USB wakelock will keep on awaking.

So theres many possible causes to ur battery drain. There are many good ROMs like wanam and checkrom, but if u keep on flashing without really stay with one, u won't really feel any improvement.

As far as im using Omega with Siyah kernel, everything seem fine after 2 days using. Smooth, fast..

JB is definitely better than ICS, in terms of functionality and speed. And whenever u do a major upgrade, sure battery will drain very fast as it's like a fresh start for the phone.

Added on November 6, 2012, 1:40 amhehe... try it urself mate. Im kinda addicted to flashing new ROMs now.. as long as u had ur files backup with TiBa, everything is fine. haha. Every popular ROMs are good, it is just depend on users itself. I've tried wanam, checkrom and omega, lastly sticked with omega + siyah.

If u like more stock feel, go for wanam.. My friend using ARHD ,also not bad, but not yet try..

ive tried polaris office and officesuite.. both just view pdf files, cant edit.

Just to make sure, inside that folder there is another folder called Backup, and inside backup is the Folder with your backup date ?

This should be the nandroid backup u have done previously. Do you have an ext sd card? My nandroid is saved in my ext sd card and yes, it can be deleted... don't delete the whole folder, just delete the folder with ur nandroid backup date on it as folder name.

then u SHOULD go ask in garage sales NOW

Yeah.. better wipe cache and dalvik.. standard procedure

1) wipe data
2) wipe cache
3) wipe dalvik
4) then only flash the new rom..
5) restore from ur backup..

just a few clicks only to wipe cache and dalvik, not even 5 seconds, its done.. so why take the risk for not doing it? I always do that when flashing new ROM..

Cant really tell what is awake at the background by just looking at the battery page. suggest u to get betterbatterystats to analyse in details what process keep on waking up..

Just to make sure, ur factory reset is by selecting WIpe data in recovery?

well thats the normal procedure to ensure everything works and no crashes between 2 ROMS, but if u skipped already, don't worry, just observe ur new UK ROM, see if it works fine.. If everything okay, u r good to go
