so what happens to the Inspira?
*
Insipira is nothing more than one off deal. There is basically not much benefit from the rebadge in terms of technology transfer. Mitsubishi won't allow altering anything including engine and transmission. Only suspension.

And the engine and transmssion can only be use in Inspira, not other model. It is more like mitsibushi want to clear lancer stock.

It's a one-off deal, just like what they signed couple of years ago.

proton gave a bloody good explanation (bluff) to cover that controversy about 'rebadging', saying that the deal was actually about proton and mitsu developing the lancer together like how mazda and ford shares platforms. what a bluff... whistling.gif

So I wonder with the collobaration would it be another rebadging exercise?

I think the bigger problem is what to do with Lotus.

i think PROTON-HONDA partnership is related to this news

this petronas engine, the chief engineer is from Honda F1 project, Osamu Gotu who build champion car for F1 legend Ayrton Senna,
PROTON said want to revive this F1 engine project.. maybe that's this is why Proton-Honda partnership will make its official announcement in Japan today

PROTON guna enjin PETRONAS

I dont see they are going to rebadge atfirst place, maybe some model such as perdana/accord

I would like to see they share engine instead, but Honda need something for return right? Ride and Handling from Lotus? Or more sense that honda gonna to use some part of proton plant for asean market..

but how about thailand?
