Sigh my S2 just died a few moments ago. Was attempting to do a firmware upgrade to JellyBean, in the process of Extracting data, the phone suddenly switched Off. I thought it went into Screen Saver mode, but to my surprise it just died. I wasn't able to switch it back on anymore.

Went to a nearby shop coz i wondered if it could be the battery that died off. Maybe just replacing it will solve the issue. Thus the shop owner was nice enough to open up one of his batteries to test it for me. But unfortunately it didn't work. Pressing the Power Button did nothing .

Has anyone of you had or heard of this problem? The shop owner suggest that i go to Samsung Service Centre and send it in for check..

Aaaaaaihh...

this bug happens when you do full wipe, but the kernels that has full wipe in cwm all has this bug fixed, did you do full wipe before your phone died? if not then its not this bug, and fyi all kernels with cwm has this bug fixed long ago, which is why its not a big deal to most of us
I tried to upgrade my ROM & Kernel at the same time. The ROM that i wanted to load in was called JellyBam. And i tried to load in CM10 Kernel.

All this was done by copying the ZIP file into my phone SD Card , reboot into recover mode. And i followed the ROM's Installation Wizard after i run it from the SD Card. Upon completing the Wizard, and the application starts extracting the ROM Package, my phone just died off and could never be turned on ever since. I googled up and down in and out, only to find the relation to this *e-MMC Brick Bug* which resembles exactly the same symptom that i had.

Now the phone is in Samsung Factory not sure if it'll cost me anything cause its still under warranty sad.gif ..

By the way in terms of flashing , do you guys normally flash only the ROM or do you guys flash the Kernel as well? Prior to my attempt above, everything was original from Samsung. No alteration/flashing done before. I did root the device & had CWM prior to flashing. Not sure if i'm doing the right thing, but the first attempt has gave me quite a SCARE..
