depends. if u r a geek then by all means, go ahead. also, if u are a student with lots of time on ur hands, it may be a good time killer.

for the rest of us, the tabhone is working quite fine. minimal increments in smoothness doesn't justify wasting time on it.

Rooting and flashing roms are totally different things. Rooting have its advantages.

Allow you to install cwm recovery which allow full backup n restore of rom with all its stuffs
Usage of apps that need access system files eg titanium backup ( backup n restore your apps n data), adfree (remove pesky ads), kernel tools, CPU tools etc
Install custom kernel n custom roms
Etc etc go read up

Use easy phone sync

Don't understand your statement
Any stuffs on previous internal memory you need to remap your apps pointing to it
Or just copy all your internal sd stuffs to external sdcard. This is easiest n best solution. You can than safely delete your previous internal sdcard

sd maid only for internal memory. If you have used external sdcard as internal memory it will still work without any problems
