I had a problem with the "Folder Open" and "Folder Closed" stupid talking phone thing at full volume... so embarrasing in the lift and office... so i googled and got a solution fortunately... lifted from somewhere on the internet:
For those who wants to try it do the following: - Go to Settings -> Accessibility -> Talkback "ON" - Select "Settings" from the bottom of the page - Uncheck all Talkback options - Switch Talkback "Off" again - Go back to Settings -> Application manager -> All - Disable Google TTS (text to speech) - Disable Samsung TTS (text to speech)

i have used the phone for a week now...
last time with my iphone i charge my phone each and every time i sit down on my cubicle.. the battery life is horrendous.. at most 0% by 3pm
now with the samsung.. i can take my phone off the charger at 7am, normal usage till 9-10pm with 20% battery left (79% of which goes to power the huge screen) and i can actually still see about 8-9% battery life if i didn't charge it overnight... fabulous!
