There are two potentiometers directly under the S-Pens button. Left potentiometer (the one that is nearest to the lead) controls the sensitivity of the pen. Adjusting the potentiometer counterclockwise increases sensitivity. Just remove the button cover, and slightly modify the potentiometer.

THAT, is VERY INTERESTING. An xda hack !!!

How does one remove the button without breaking the clips? I like opening stuff, but some are just too fragile.

BTW dude, can you SPOILER your pic.

Yes ma'am. I saw your sig. It's just a generic exclamation of "yeah man!" without any gender inference.

You seem to be pretty linux savvy. notworthy.gif

BTW those libs tend to be comms and security related. I'm not exactly looking into that sort of stuff, but it's useful to know. I'm a casual linux user (trying to wean myself off M$).

Any idea why synaptic doesn't execute? After my LXDE install, I was looking for it then realized it probably wasn't part of the package, so I did sudo apt-get install synaptic. It installed, even the icon is in the start menu, but won't run even after authenticating.

My real desire is to run VirtualBox and try out some flavor of M$ Windows for kicks and who knows what else. The GNote2's specs have attained the minimal RAM config for this to run properly.

I tried Bochs and qemu XP.imgs on GNote1 it ran like dripping frozen molasses.

Jump Desktop is also ridiculously easy. The free version allows 1 desktop. I got the paid one during the $0.25 sale last month. rclxms.gif

Doesn't VNC viewer give you some cacat looking screen due to the screen redraw color palette being quite low? (16/256 color).

http://www.yourmoney.com/your-money/news/2...out-the-parents

'Do it for me' generation helpless without the parents

.........
The survey showed parents spend the equivalent of nearly one hour per week (51 hours per year) carrying out home improvements for grown up children aged 20-40 living away from home.

Over half of these parents give up their free time to lend a hand, with some setting aside theirs chores to help with garden maintenance (47%), painting (46%) and building and assembling furniture (34%).

But some grown-up children still call upon their parents to help with bleeding radiators (9%) and even changing light bulbs (8%).

Despite the time and investment from mum and dad, it seems the ‘Do It For Me' generation are in no hurry to learn how to do these tasks themselves.

If parents were unavailable to help their grown up children, two fifths (42%) believe their children would leave the tasks until their parents are available and 40% believe their children would hire a tradesman instead of tackling the job themselves.

Hi Aspire, really inspiring reports daily.

Question about your usage, apart from the massive screen on time available, do any of the indicators represent CPU on time? Maybe a screenshot of CPUSpy might be good to accompany your reports?

If I may ask, what's your usage pattern for screen on? Lots of browsing and movies?

just go buy any charger with 2a is sufficient already
I'd say get a GOOD QUALITY 2A. (probably 40+.)

This is currently the ONLY CASE I will recommend an Apple product....I think Apple chargers for Ipads provide the true rated power of 2A, or even 3A with the New New Ipad.

A lot of the cheap ones cannot output proper 2A and likely power supplied is not clean DC.

Yes. It's how the sensor behaves. Others may enlighten on the technical aspects of its operation.

Yes I recall, but it's no comparison leh. Resistive screen vs Active digitizer worlds apart. I had always lusted after devices with Active digitizers. Now more and more devices having it. The new Win8 PRO tablets are starting to have Wacom as well, and a lot less than 7k++ compared to those days (even 3 years ago).

For the paranoid or statistically inclined:

http://forums.juniper.net/t5/Security-Mobi...hat/ba-p/166058

More concerning is that many apps collect information or require permissions unnecessary for the described functionality of the apps. This is not the first time this issue has surfaced – reports of popular apps collecting irrelevant information or transmitting data when devices are turned off has led to significant backlash. However, less is known about the state of privacy across the entire application ecosystem.

To get a sense of the state of application privacy today, Juniper Networks’ Mobile Threat Center (MTC) analyzed over 1.7 million apps on the Google Play market from March 2011 to September 2012.

......
Accept some exposure with free apps. It seems there is no such thing as a free lunch in mobile. If people choose to use free applications, they will likely need to provide information in exchange. Often times, the value provided by the app is well worth the information given up by a user; however, many do not realize that this tracking is happening and may not be making informed choices. Communicating why information is needed in a concise and easy-to-understand means could help people become more comfortable with information sharing.
......

So, CHECK APP PERMISSIONS BEFORE INSTALL.

Waze can be used without data connection. In this respect, it behaves just like sygic and ppago. With data, you get lots more functionality.

This myth was around since Nokia days, coz, well, WHO makes phones in Finland????

Perhaps it was so last time, but that is no longer applicable. It's probably a running number block by manufacturer now, like your MAC address.
