S3 battery life slight better than note. Very slight better only

Simply s3 chip is slightly more efficient than note
Note 2 chip together with jb is super efficient I would say. I always used the word its battery life is just insanely great

Even if the battery performance drop over time to say even 50% more than note /s3 I am more than happy. Currently it is 2-3 x that better than note/s3

Stock recovery can only do update of official zip but not flash custom roms/kernel or modem. For that you need clockworkmod recovery
You can try use the Note 2 toolkit to do such flashing
But why even bother to root and not install recovery ?? It defeats the purpose of rooting. You are only getting a 3 wheel car instead of 4 wheels
With CWM recovery you can do nandroid backup/restore, mount your cards, flash kernel, modem and roms, delete yout battery stats etc

Flashing through CWM is a way much better choice than mobile odin. 100% reliable. Use Mobile odin with care as at times it will leads to phone hanging unexpectedly. It was perfect on ICS but quite unreliable at times in JB

Why worry about flash counter. Just use the app triangleaway to clean it

I recommend you to use the free app K9 Mail. It is "hundred " times better than the default email app which is just hopelessly basic without much features

With K9 mail , you can :

1. Setup multiple email accounts and have mails recieved together in one window or view them according to account
2. Display format - set different font sizes to all mail features eg from, to, title, message contents, etc
3. Setup mail checking /refresh time
4. Setup whether mail be deleted from server after download or sync server deletions
5. Batch management of emails - useful when you have a lot of emails

Read my blog in post #4 for a easier method. Or read all the 3 methods and see which you are more comfortable with

YES , just follow my instructions.
Use ODIN in PC and flash back stock Msian rom and you will be back to stock and root/CWM will be removed

As I said many times, this is only for those kiasu users who want to claim warranty. i dont even bother to do such nor revert back to stock rom sending in warranty claims. And very proud to say has been claiming warranty FOC 5 times for past 3 years without any issue.
Infact many NOTE users has reported replacing motherboard FOC with failed flashing
However users are always sceptical and want to be safe. It is their choice if they want to do these stuffs
I always said you can "cheat" your way through the reception staff who take in your phone but NEVER the tech as he can still detect your previous flashing records.
It is an open secret Samsung service CEnter will charge back Samsung Korea for all work done. So they close their eye most of the time. I'd also advised those who sent in their phones to service center be polite and do not/never "hentam" the phone . Just tell them your problem with it. Especially if your phone is rooted, I will definitely void your warranty if i found out you have rooted it and if you approach me with such an attitude
Once at the service center, i saw this chap condemning the phone as if is the worst piece of shit. I really respect the staff for her patience listening to his complains, anger and frustrations

Msian sets has 2 types of roms : Sept batch XXALIE without multi windows and Oct batch XXALJI with multi windows
Some buyers even luckier got the later Oct release XXALJ3
So depend on your luck
So far I know those buying from maxis has either XXALIE or XXALJI

I have tested using Heimdall ( google for it ) on MacOSX and success rate is 50/50, not even worth recommending. Got my phone into several soft brick situations - that was for the Galaxy S, S2 and Note. Do not even want to try for the NOte 2 and S3

Most safe and 100% reliable proven way is to use Windows XP/Windows 7 based PC

Omega 5 is also based on ZSALJ7 ( HK rom) similar to Wannam 1.4. You must select wipe data before flash or you will see same contacts problem in messaging again. I tested it briefly only out of curiosity. Must say this is his best effort to date as was never impressed with his ver 3 and 4
