QUOTE(ChrisWeiYuan @ Oct 28 2012, 01:43 AM) hmmph.. i have a very different thoughts from you guys... not to offend. 'm s2 user myself. It is easily double that the s3 battery lifeI think there is a reason of why note 2 come with such battery capacity. Reason 1: Larger screen size which literally consumed more battery. Reason 2: Higher processors and better RAM which also will consumed more battery Reason 3: Sustained a better battery life in comparing with other devices. Conclusion: Is it really that sustainable with the 3100 battery life? I quite doubt on it. With that quad core processors and 2 gb ram. It definitely consumed more battery (simply logic) and of course a greater screen size. So is it really that battery saving guys? http://www.techradar.com/reviews/phones/mo...eview?artc_pg=9 i have a review claiming that the battery life is more or less the same with S3 performance where s3 battery is literally lesser. just my opinion.. no offense... Your deduction is logical but sadly incorrect Ask any s3 or note user Techradar is completely outright wrong I have been using the note 2 since 5oct n I can confirm this . The S3 battery is definitely positively worse This post has been edited by benny888: Oct 28 2012, 01:55 AM |

QUOTE(bosco1314 @ Oct 28 2012, 02:00 AM) Simply s3 chip is slightly more efficient than note Note 2 chip together with jb is super efficient I would say. I always used the word its battery life is just insanely great I quote again some basic stats: you compared this with your current phone 3g continuous browsing 8-12 % per hour. Wifi 2-3 % lower Continuous video 8-10%/hour 3g active but phone actively background with Facebook notification, tweets update , email updates over 7-8 hours battery drop 2-3% I have been using so many android phones past 3 years none of the HTC, samsung phones can ever match it |

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Oct 28 2012, 02:13 AM) With Note2 can get 8 - 9 hours screen on time. Yes fully agree with your resultsWith S3 can get mostly 4 hours+ but less than 5 hours. With Note1 can get 3 - 4 hours With S2 can get around 3 - 4 hours. All phones on stock roms with everything enable. Similar to my observations Even if the battery performance drop over time to say even 50% more than note /s3 I am more than happy. Currently it is 2-3 x that better than note/s3 |

With the note 2 battery life is a non issue
No more need to : Undervolt n underclock Toggle 3g n 2g . Leave 3g on 24/ 7 without worries Experimenting wth different kernel or roms Setting up different profiles eg wth setcpu You only do such stuffs unless you want to further squeeze every mah out from it . Its default status should meet 99% of user requirements Well there are always users who are never satisfied This post has been edited by benny888: Oct 28 2012, 08:31 AM |

QUOTE(ayed08 @ Oct 28 2012, 08:56 AM) want ask..how to install/flash .zip file if my note 2 only rooted with stock recovery?means i dont have cwm recovery.. Stock recovery can only do update of official zip but not flash custom roms/kernel or modem. For that you need clockworkmod recoveryYou can try use the Note 2 toolkit to do such flashing But why even bother to root and not install recovery ?? It defeats the purpose of rooting. You are only getting a 3 wheel car instead of 4 wheels With CWM recovery you can do nandroid backup/restore, mount your cards, flash kernel, modem and roms, delete yout battery stats etc Added on October 28, 2012, 9:33 am QUOTE(AstonCheah @ Oct 28 2012, 09:30 AM) hi all, i flyingto Korea, Seoul today, you thinks buying the GN2 there will have any benefit and advantage? Buying Korean phones you just got to be wise as most of them will not work here as their GSM system is different. Do research properly and find out which is compatibleAndreilux in XDA has started to port gorkal's scoobidoo sound kernel(i need this most!!), so i think it's time get a note2..hehe... QUOTE(ayed08 @ Oct 28 2012, 09:38 AM) i know..now im just trying because i try to use my phone with status:normal, binary count:0 but still rooted..thats need to used stock recovery..hehe.btw i think i find the solution..i flash using mobile odin.. Flashing through CWM is a way much better choice than mobile odin. 100% reliable. Use Mobile odin with care as at times it will leads to phone hanging unexpectedly. It was perfect on ICS but quite unreliable at times in JBWhy worry about flash counter. Just use the app triangleaway to clean it This post has been edited by benny888: Oct 28 2012, 09:46 AM |

QUOTE(schizophreak @ Oct 28 2012, 09:44 AM) I'm coming from iOS. GN2 is my first Android device. I recommend you to use the free app K9 Mail. It is "hundred " times better than the default email app which is just hopelessly basic without much featuresCan someone help me with how to change the email app's background to white instead of black? Can't seem to find the settings to do this anywhere. With K9 mail , you can : 1. Setup multiple email accounts and have mails recieved together in one window or view them according to account 2. Display format - set different font sizes to all mail features eg from, to, title, message contents, etc 3. Setup mail checking /refresh time 4. Setup whether mail be deleted from server after download or sync server deletions 5. Batch management of emails - useful when you have a lot of emails Added on October 28, 2012, 9:56 am QUOTE(merchant9 @ Oct 28 2012, 09:48 AM) This is not the easiest way but still can say is pretty easy. Actually all present rooting methods are easy. Only a dumbo will say is difficultRead my blog in post #4 for a easier method. Or read all the 3 methods and see which you are more comfortable with Odin is software to flash rom, kernel , modem in PC Omega 5 is custom rom This post has been edited by benny888: Oct 28 2012, 09:56 AM |

QUOTE(merchant9 @ Oct 28 2012, 10:05 AM) Hi there, firstly, thanks for replying so quickly. Really appreciate the help and sharing. YES , just follow my instructions. I am not going to flash to a custom rom as I have had bad experience while doing it on my HTC desire. On top of that, I'm not a tech savvy person. I love the phone as it is now but I need to root. My ROM just got updated to XXALJ3 this morning, OTA. I assume, I just follow this part of your blog? ROOTING and Installing ClockworkMod Recovery 1. Download the recovery cum root file cwm6-root-n7100-121015.rar from HERE . Extract this rar file to get the file in tar format. Copy this tar file to any location in PC Just in case I have to warranty my phone, how do I reverse rooting? Added on October 28, 2012, 10:06 amOh yea, and thanks for recommending the new mail client too. That's absolutely something I need badly. Use ODIN in PC and flash back stock Msian rom and you will be back to stock and root/CWM will be removed This post has been edited by benny888: Oct 28 2012, 10:23 AM |

QUOTE(vostro78 @ Oct 28 2012, 10:10 AM) Actually why need to reset the triangle what set counter things. Warranty reason.? Or stale issue. I am just new to flash ROM. So I do no is this important or not. My x s3 flash few times already I also do no this...hahaha... As I said many times, this is only for those kiasu users who want to claim warranty. i dont even bother to do such nor revert back to stock rom sending in warranty claims. And very proud to say has been claiming warranty FOC 5 times for past 3 years without any issue.Infact many NOTE users has reported replacing motherboard FOC with failed flashing However users are always sceptical and want to be safe. It is their choice if they want to do these stuffs I always said you can "cheat" your way through the reception staff who take in your phone but NEVER the tech as he can still detect your previous flashing records. It is an open secret Samsung service CEnter will charge back Samsung Korea for all work done. So they close their eye most of the time. I'd also advised those who sent in their phones to service center be polite and do not/never "hentam" the phone . Just tell them your problem with it. Especially if your phone is rooted, I will definitely void your warranty if i found out you have rooted it and if you approach me with such an attitude Once at the service center, i saw this chap condemning the phone as if is the worst piece of shit. I really respect the staff for her patience listening to his complains, anger and frustrations |

QUOTE(crazyissac @ Oct 28 2012, 10:42 AM) Omega 5 is also based on ZSALJ7 ( HK rom) similar to Wannam 1.4. You must select wipe data before flash or you will see same contacts problem in messaging again. I tested it briefly only out of curiosity. Must say this is his best effort to date as was never impressed with his ver 3 and 4What spen delay issues are you facing ?? |
