The remaining portion is used to accommodate the firmware if I'm not mistaken

QUOTE(Ecodian @ Oct 22 2006, 12:08 AM) @sifu, The Xmit Power from the Advance Setting have range 0 - 251mW. If I change it to the maximum, will it cause any harm to human body? Also will the life of the unit being shorterned? what i know is setting the value too high will render your router to be overheated, thus shortening its lifespan.

QUOTE(ExCrIpT @ Oct 23 2006, 05:30 PM) Yeah using its original firmware Firmware Version: v1.00.6 Too hot will cause it to DC by itself ar? router is connected to the modem directly of course. I'm scared to flash it cuz you all said that if done wrongly it will go kaboom and warranty will be void Just follow the steps and don't do something that you're not sure, ask around before you go into it. Flashing it is simple as 123 provided you are clear about what you are doing. Edit: Typo This post has been edited by blaxez: Oct 23 2006, 10:15 PM

Its a huge big adaptor but damn hot. How bout u guys? mine was hot too, it got burned 2 times and I'm too lazy to take it for RMA for the 3rd time, I'm using my spare laptop adapter with it and it's much cooler.

QUOTE(Haratio @ Nov 5 2006, 09:39 PM) I am learning to set the QoS. What is the ideal value for download and upload in kbps? i heard many says to set the value at 85%-90%. I use calculator to compute and it has decimal points. What value should i use? I am on the 512kbps/256kbps package. It's better to set higher values that you got from the speedtest as lower values will cause the QoS to limit your bandwidth, hence you can't utilize all of your bandwidth.

There's a x86 version of DD-WRT coming soon, we can easily convert our old rig into a router.
