Hi, my friend recommended that I try collagen drinks, but I don't know which brand is good. Do you have any suggestion or recommendation, how do you feel after you drink it?

No, collagen food supplements is no better at making your skin better than any kind of protein food source. Collagen is produced in your body, if you consume collagen, it will be broken down into amino acids and reconstructed again into *maybe* collagen, or it can be stored as fat, and some collagen products may not even be halal. What you need is a wholesome diet, keep your skin moisturized.

Dishes which are naturally rich in collagen such as pigs trotters, shark fin and chicken skin have also soared in popularity...
...eating collagen is no more effective an anti-ageing method than consuming any other protein-rich food.

applying collagen cream to skin will not make it any smoother, because collagen is produced inside the body and not absorbed through skin.

I think that makes sense, I read this article - http://cosmedmd.blogspot.com/2012/09/colla...eally-work.html - so I have been wondering. I have a cousin who drinks pretty much any kind of collagen drink, she is obsessed with them! She says her skin looks and feels a lot better now that she is drinking them, and her face always feels dry and flaky if she didn't drink any that day. I don't think that's how it would work, it's not like skincare that gets absorbed into the skin as soon as you put it on!

If it was true that eating pigs trotters can give you better skin, how come we Chinese don't age as well as Koreans and Japanese? Doesn't make sense, right?
