HI,
Knowing and read the benefit of GREEN TEA all around bodybuilding articles etc......
trying to incorporate green tea into my daily life.
Bought myself a box of 50 pack BOH green Tea at RM8.50 2 weeks ago. today only start my fist cup in the morning. tongue.gif

i got a couple question here.
1)how many time u use same tea bag to boil?
2)any cheaper brand?
3)how many cup is ideal per day?

Picked some articles and benefit from bodybuilding.com

"Drinking green tea is one of the easiest ways to rev up your metabolism. A study reported in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that green tea-extract increases the metabolism by 4% over a 24 hour period.

Three to five cups a day can help you burn an extra 70 calories a day, which adds up to seven pounds a year, 35 pounds for five years and 70 pounds for 10 years.

Green tea has also been shown to inhibit fat absorption—the movement of glucose into fat cells, [support healthy] glucose levels after eating a meal, prevent insulin spikes which prevents fat storage, and reduce appetite. "

Shouldn't this be in the Health & Fitness forum instead of the Bodybuilding & Strength Training one? I stand corrected if there's a correlation between green tea and bodybuilding/strength training.

i don't even bother boiling. just throw a couple of bags into my H2O canister and wait for it to turn green.

2 bags usually last me about 1L of water prepared in the above manner.

drink it liberaly.

if you must have your coffee, try using stevia rather than sugar.

i love green tea too! but TS, u might wanna try diff brands tongue.gif i think BOH one not that nice. get those green tea from the japanese food section in hypermarket, taste more "original" IMO. green tea have caffeine too, although not much, but can disturb sleep too if taken at late night. normally i'll use 1 tea bag for 1 mug ~300ml, don't use water that's too hot and don't soak too long, coz it will make the tea goes pungent and very bitter biggrin.gif

Try get from 100 Yen shop, I only can spot one in Bandar Puteri Puchong, shop lot opposite of Giant, roughly RM6 for 50 packs, in green packing bu Flora Kitchen, 1 pack is almost equivalent to 2 packs of BOH. There is a shop beside All IT Ikarno also selling it in around RM6-8 I don't remember the exact amount. I found it cheapest among all green tea I found in hypermarket. Tien Ren taste not bad but expensive.

I never do any research or lab test on the tea content so don't flame me, just sharing.

Same as TS got the 50's of BOH.

1 teabag = 2L of tea to me. Maybe I should use 1 more tea bag?

Depends on your goals.

If you're talking about metabolism, fat loss, and alertness, it's entirely insignificant when compared to coffee.

If you're looking at stress relief from sipping green tea, some slight mental boost from the mini caffeine content, plus some health promoting qualities derived from the poly-phenols content, yeap it is good for this purpose.

The part on fat storage inhibition, cinnamon powder would almost definitely do a much better and significant job.

By the way if you drink milk then it's a pain in the ass cause then you won't be benefiting from the polyphenols.

Therefore, notwithstanding the fact that green tea is a healthy drink, the claimed benefits for bodybuilding are just over-hyped.

Are the much difference between green tea and the normal tea
e.g Boh, Lipton?

I mean, with exception to polyphenols, the rest should be the same, right?
