laugh.gif at those who don't know what I'm asking.

Saw a tablet modder swap out his Golf HU for a cheap 1-din HU with Bluetooth & AUX input, fabricated a custom housing for his tablet and mounted it in front of the 1-din HU covering it totally from view.

those who got quotation from newegg via fb, I was wondering, who fast do they reply? im waiting for their reply since yesterday..
*
Pretty fast. Conversing with them regarding my purchase, they usually reply within 1-2 days. I got every reply the next day after I replied to them though.

The S3 battery will exhaust at 30-35% per hour n phone will gets very hot above 45-50 degree C
Best is use Note 2 at 10% per hour n less than 40 degree C
*
That means any other older Android phone will suffer from worse battery drain... sigh, looks like there's no option of going for the WiFi model. Have to wait it out for the 3G.

I got a rooted CSL Mi300. can I used this CSL as a wifi hotspot?
*
Any Android phone with Froyo (2.1) and newer software can. Settings > Wireless & Networks > Tethering & portable hotspot

You can't be too sure - apparently the Nexus 7 uses the same Broadcom chip as a call-capable China brand tablet. People at XDA working on it..

let say
299 usd = RM 908.87
if buy from newegg plus rm49 for shipping and rm100 for sirim.
RM908 + Rm49 + RM100 = rm1057

Sen Heng price Rm1099.
1099-1057= rm42.
diff only RM42.
*
Not bad at all, SenQ's price. Just so you know, Newegg uses a conversion rate of 3.1, so it's as follows:

USD299 = RM926.90
Shipping = RM49
Total = RM975.90

Not too sure about the SIRIM charges though, since Newegg is registered as a company, are their imports taxed by SIRIM that way? I'd say the RM100 is the maximum they can charge us for SIRIM, if SIRIM does impose it on Newegg.

So the difference in price should be around RM23-100. Time to spam SenQ with my calls tomorrow laugh.gif

you can go into settings in mxplayer to enable more options for hw codec. Not sure hw or software is more efficient or better
*
Hardware encoding is better, but taxing on battery consumption.

Nope no pictures even on the original product site. Take a wild guess - shouldn't be too different, check out the Mocran POSH for the iPad and I'm guessing it should be about the same.

They took it out because there are no stocks available yet. Called their shops, confirmed have to wait 1 to 2 weeks before the stock for both the 16GB WiFi and 32GB WiFi+3G models arrive.

Yup. Luckily there is a dealer in LYN who has already received stock from Asus M'sia. Gonna get mine soon when I'm free.

Approx how long approx does it take after payment at newegg ?
*
If they have stock, they ship it to you the next day. Expect it to arrive in 1-3 days.

If they don't have stock you have to wait till they ship from US. Expect 1-2 weeks.

Just received the Nillkin leather case from tskhor today.  Love its minimalist and slim profile, smart cover works great, can reduce the use of power button.  The only drawback is the lack of cover at the top and bottom.  sweat.gif
*
Top and bottom no cover then the cover cover apa? laugh.gif I get it la, but anyway, IMHO you should've got the flip case. Full coverage + leather also? About the same also the price. I think I'm getting one of that.

Not at the moment. The Nexus 7 doesn't support MHL or HDMI out. As of now... maybe something might happen in the future, we don't know, but for now, no.

I've been using both dice and MX player for watching movies. WHile I was trying out Dice player on a 720p movie, with the default settings, the sound became 'robotic'. I notice that happen for a several split seconds while I was playing Mass Effect too.

However playing the same video on MX player with h/w + codec, seems fine. I hope its not the speaker's problem.
*
h/w + codec uses the Tegra chip to do the coding & decoding, so it is definitely more powerful compared to original settings (I assume it would be software decoding)

This is a very silly thought. Not all hardware decoding works like charm as if it were a Samsung Galaxy S or Note series.
*
Generally understood that hardware decoding > software decoding. Never said that it was a universal rule. Some apps are better with software decoding even when run on powerful hardware BUT those apps are few and hard to come by.

EDIT: The Tegra is very much superior compared to other devices which the current media player apps have been written on which gives it an added advantage. Quad core > dual core when it comes to situations like these.

I have finally conceded that Tegra3 is overrated. I thought it really made a lot of difference in gaming, but in reality not much. Disappointed but finally faced facts
*
Is it really that overrated? I haven't really used a Tegra 3 device before... what are you comparing it to, though?

Anyone knows how to access a camera with USB OTG? I shoot RAW files from my DSLR, and the Gallery function only detects JPG files. Tried searching for the camera's mounted directory through OI File Manager but can't find it.

Nexus 7 is largely unknown in Malaysia for now. Went to a big accessories stall yesterday, seeing their large display of iPhone/iPad/Galaxy Tab cases, I decided to ask if they carried any Nexus 7 merchandise.

The response I got? 'Nexus 7? What is that? Dunno wor, sorry we don't sell anything for that.' doh.gif

hi guys, i saw quite some ppl saying that the nexus will automatically shuts down when it reach like 10% or more than that, it is common in nexus 7?

It's happened to a few people, but can't say that it is common yet.
-

Speaking of which, anyone have any idea how to do this on the stock Nexus 7 ROM without having to root, flash etc? I'm quite happy with stock Jelly Bean, too lazy to flash a custom ROM onto it. laugh.gif

Mine has been great. Using it till it dies before charging, no problem with the shutting down issue.
