just saw the first half on astro. damn walcott really looks a CF, that's a class finish. tho i still dont think chipped finishes are a frequent in the EPL, rarely see chipped goals.

getting the popcorn ready for the 2nd half 8)

just finished watching 2nd half, that's the way to play it! play direct! enough of the pretty pretty football that has brought nothing for the past few years! and sometimes it doesnt even look pretty, we're just trying to outpass the other team.

gonna go watch ET

giroud always seems to hit the target. i believe the reason he doesnt score as much is that his body movement's too easy to read. plus he's not that agile compared to walcott. he practically broadcasts where he's going to put the ball with his slow movement.

we had lots of good ball put in the penalty box today, i'm really pleased with that. walcott isnt a brilliant crosser but he's an able one.

lol look at macha's face when he scored his first goal. pure elation. even i smiled watching him celebrate. he badly needs a goal n he got it. not that i would put him anywhere near the first team, but hey a confident striker can always come in handy.

now, on to a rather interesting question... i believe we played 4-4-2 ytd right? MaCha/giroud up front with walcott and andrei in the flanks, coq and eisfeld marshaling the center.

with the current form of our strikers, would it be better if we start playing two up front? last year we had a complete forward in rvp who can work magic on his own. this year, a strike partnership is probably what we need. tho i do see the immediate problem of not having a strong center since we'd have to sacrifice a CM. plus, employing santi purely as a CM would be a waste of his talents. is it possible to employ cazorla as a trequartista forward?

QUOTE(mohdkhairi91 @ Nov 2 2012, 02:14 AM)
what do u guys feel if walcott leaving?  sad.gif i am always a fan of him and his pace ( not because of his recent goal scoring form  tongue.gif )
*
he always has something to offer, whether it be his at times surprisiing finishing or his not so surprising electric pace. i've seen him combine with rvp too many times for me to actually hate walcott, although he's never my no. 1 fave in arsenal. gervinho in the flanks is not the same as the gerv in ST this season; holding the ball too long, trying to beat his man when a pass would have been more effective. walcott tries to beat his man too, and while i dont think he's any better that gerv at dribbling, his speed alone gives him advantage. and i believe walcott's crossing is better than gerv. AOC and arsha's the best crossers in the flank that we have now.

finishing wise, gervinho has been repaying arsene's faith when played in the ST role. we do see him scoff some chances, but his positioning is good enough in the box. walcott on the other hand have been showing a much better finishing instinct than any of our other strikers. so yes, i would be disappointed if he leaves. because as a flanker i've seen all he has to offer, but as a CF he might have something new. as long as he hasnt played his preferred role in the center, i want him to stay.

from a mere fan's POV. i dont live in the training ground or tactically sound enough to say why arsene is still reluctant in trying him out for the CF position. i still think playing two up front is an interesting idea. walcott/giroud seems menacing, guy with speed/guy with strength

if plan A was gerv as CF, then that's gone for the next few weeks as he's out injured. i say this injury has come at the right time, gerv's form is stagnating, walcott's is improving. we'd prob start the game with plan B

how's manutd's defence this season? havent watched a single man utd game, so iuno where their weakness is. there's gotta be a weakness based on the amount of goals they're conceding

here's an idea... altho it's a risk seeing how low on confidence koscielny is right now. TV5/Per/Kosc/Sagna? that will free up podolski to attack

liv needs a forward more than a winger. ohh okay. BR might offer walcott a chance to play forward alongside suarez.

walcott might be very useful in liverpool. his speed will make use of gerrard and suarez's intelligent play. plus he'll take the scoring burden off suarez alone. nope i do not fancy him going to liverpool at all.

i still think he'll sign da ting come january.

we should be able to dominate the midfield. i really dont see man utd playing park the bus at home which is good since we just cant play against that. they will be focusing on the flanks, as we all know they're very good at wing play. a battle between santos+podolski/rafael+valencia is something i dont relish greatly. rooney will be their main threat down the center, and if ol scholes plays we know how much he riles up the other players esp against rivals. he got a good long shot too.

i see no problem in the center tho, jack/arteta and santi should be able to boss the midfield. maybe narrow is the way to go in this game. giroud to bully evans around, and walcott/poldi to run at rio.

he did say arsenal's defence > man utd. the only thing i slightly disagree is the midfielder part. we are very superior to them

i'll be surprised if our central mids of arteta, santi and wilshere's class get outplayed by their CMs. man utd's too strong on the wings, esp Valencia. he's going to torment andre with his runs, and per/tv5 with his crosses.

one thing we need to do is to play direct. dont think it will be difficult creating chances against this man utd, therefore no need for fancy overplay. their center mid and center DF are weak enough to allow long shots which santi should capitalize. not sure giroud can handle the hustle of rio and kungfu fighter evans. but walcott should def try making runs in between those two. hopefully walcott will start cuz i do not see how ramsey will contribute.
