Think Gibbs will feature a while before replaced by Santos to keep him fresh for Saturday, same goes to Eisfield if Chambo is in le boss' plan this weekend.

We could have conceded three to four goals with this kind of poor defense... Vermaelen has been making mistakes recently and as a captain you can't just make mistake and let the team concede as that will bring the morale of the team down!

The whole team is just not in form or you could say it's lack of ambition after seven years of trophy-less run. You could see the obvious difference between our players and their players, we were all relaxed and laid back when we lose the ball but ManU players constantly pressed us when we have possession to regain the ball. It doesn't look like we want to win at all.
Then you think about how we won against the giants last time, like the City match last year - we constantly pressed them and intercept to regain possession and something worked out in the end and everyone basically played really well.
We need to start winning something and let the players have a taste of lifting trophy, otherwise this is just going to be a one way road down the road and I can only imagine Wenger being sacked in the future. Arsenal need a big turning point now to revolutionize, which I can only see it as being possible when
- Wenger is sacked. - Usmanov takes over the board.
I did not say that we should sack Wenger, the problem is every other teams are catching up and the time will come very soon when we drop out of top 4 because every club is being injected with cash these days.
Definitely City, Chelsea and ManU will be the top 3, that leaves us fighting with the likes of Tottenham, Newcastle and Everton for top 4. Don't forget that Tony Fernandes has also injected cash into QPR, which I think will find their way into the game as soon as a good manager takes over.
I was merely mentioning that there needs a revolutionary point for Arsenal to remain competitive and one of them being sacking Wenger.
Truth be told, if I want Arsene to leave, it will not have anything to do with the club not being able to keep the players or buy a lot of good players, it's because of his tactical mistakes and stubbornness to certain players. Look, you don't keep faith in your player if you can clearly see that they are not in form. I have yet to see Wenger taking down a player before half time just for tactical reason, which the great tactician Mourinho does all the time. The mistakes he has done in this match alone:
1) Not taking off Vermaelen. The captain was so poor that it's hard to watch. His mistake that costs the goal aside, he has failed to keep receive a simple pass and left Van Persie to rob the ball off him who in turn crossed for Valencia, another great chance that we might have conceded but did not, thanks for Valencia's poor finishing. There is then the Evra's header where Vermaelen was once again there but left a ton of space in between him and Metersacker and failed to clear the ball.
2) Starting Santos. My god. This guy can't defend for god sake and was very bad on the attacking side too. He has left so much space for Valencia and Rafael to attack time and time again and it's only a miracle that we did not concede more. Going forward he is indecisive and his cross was piss poor, sending the ball far out of the box to the other end. For god sake, since the day he was bought I was frustrated with his defending to the point that even he performed decently in the match against Chelsea I still hate him. Then the shirt swapping, what in the flying f**k? Swapping shirt at half-time with a player that's considered traitor by the fans and have just scored against your team? What kind of mindset is that, you think this is funny? Do you know what are the fans' feeling when they see that?
3) Wilshere not taken off early enough. He's got a yellow, he's made a few more rash tackles and got the warning and you're still keeping him? That excuse of leaving Wilshere on for more attacking potent is worthless as we could have just subbed Coquelin in to release Arteta. Look at what Fergusson did with Cleverly and that's the difference.
4) Podolski's been poor lately. He was literally anonymous throughout the match. I don't see him attacking or defending, he's just... missing in action and it's been a few games he's been behaving like that. The excuse of having him to compensate Santos' inability to defend is invalid, as he did not defend at all and literally left Santos all alone at the back. Heck, he doesn't even attack Rafael and gave him plenty of space to run down the flank to provide cross! I have also realised that he was always there to waste the ball away as his touch was always too heavy and the pass went too far in front to be saved or intercepted. Why is he not subbed earlier for Arshavin is baffling me.
5) Ramsey instead of Walcott. I don't even want to talk about this anymore.
I don't want to open fire at Giroud yet simply because he's not receiving the services he should be. Podolski, Gervinho and Ramsey who all feature on the flanks have failed to provide a decent cross for him. All of these mistakes have been happening over the years. Last year, there's the reluctance to play Chamberlain more when he's on form and Wenger stuck with Walcott instead, who had been largely inconsistent. There's also the stubbornness on Gervinho who's just piss poor and yes, I mean it despite being Arsenal's top scorer at the moment, remember the hat trick miss against City?
He is very predictable in tactics and team selections, but when we lose, the weakness is barely mentioned on the managing or tactics. The way I see it, Wenger would be a better club owner than a club manager. Despite the dissapointing results, at least our team performance wasn't as bad as the one against Norwich City. That to me is the worst performance of the season for us. Also, the scoreline wasn't as humiliating as the season before and we're only 9 points away from league leader. So....all hope is not lost, yet. I highly doubt we look like a winning team, but lets not get retard and stand behind our team. January transfer is looking fine for us and one I'm looking forward to.
I don't think we should accept such result. Clearly MU has missed quite a few great chances and like SAF said, the scoreline could have been 4/5-1. The performance yesterday was so poor that it's embarrassing for a club with history. Time and time again we have consoled ourselves that "this is just one bad performance, it will come good" but no it's just not happening. Unless we are ready to let our team slip to mid-table, such performance MUST BE condemned.
I'm not sure if I can hate Van Persie any longer. A player of his quality should not play in such team and receive a that kind of pay when your teammates like Chamakh just sit there doing nothing and earn half your pay. He has bailed us out of embarrassment last season but this season I'm not sure there'll be someone to do that. Luckily enough we have AVB to screw up Tottenham and maybe we will have one less opponent to compete for that pitiful top 4 finish.

The best candidate for CF is unfortunately, Walcott at the moment. He has the pace, composure in front of goal and techniques to score goals(can't believe I'm saying this).
Giroud should play as a second striker in a 4-4-2 system as he lacks the pace needed to play a lone striker and lead the front line and never will he receive any decent crosses by our wingers who don't like to cross at all.
Moreover, he has an eye for assist and is always willing and needed to defend set pieces. In almost all occasions I saw him went back to defend and left no one outside of the box to do a counter attack, or he receive the ball but was terribly outpaced by the other players.
Compared to Walcott who certain is abysmal in defending, might as well send him upfront to outpace everyone.
