means ur 2g network uses other bandwith feq than ur 3glar..
cuz the penetration rate into ur office is diffrent.
*
Defintely, Maxis uses different bands for 2G/3G respectively. Only Digi is riding only on 1800Mhz, which many have complained on the call quality.

So this is my say on how 2G/3G might affects call quality that happened few pages back? laugh.gif

Google Search update appears on my Google Now, anyone managed to update successfully?

Get this message:
Package file was not signed correctly. Uninstall the previous copy of the app and try again.

Getting the N4 bomb. Friend went US with family, hopefully she can grab that 3 units for me. lol

Can't resist the beautiful mesmerising shimmering rear under the sun. Will use it naked, probably even without SP. (I guess SP is difficult to get locally initially)

You said this because you never played other phones.

There are phones with Unlocked Bootloader on Stock. Like... The Galaxy W. All what you need to ROOT is just a zip file. No need to unlock bootloader, don't need a PC as it doesn't need to flash custom recovery prior to flashing the zip file. Stock recovery is used to apply the zip file. How can GNex be easier than that?
GNex needs ~80MB download for the Toolkit
Unlock bootloader
Then only root.

or ADB method, also need ADB driver installed then download the ADB file needed before start on command prompt.
And the biggest problem lies in getting the drivers installed.

Also ADB method also need to get the zip file for root to be pushed to phone.

Conclusion: GNex is not the easiest to root.
*
ADB driver issue was same across Galaxy line of phones (yes, that includes GNex cause it's SAMSUNG!). But then again, it auto detected on my Mac. Just the MTP not working for my Mac, even with driver install. But there is still "adb push/pull" I can use.

As for Galaxy W, you mean it's running on Recovery 2e?

voltage is correct. but
2.0 A is amps..
not 2.0 volt.

the charger specify 2.0 A, ours is 1.0 A..

240 v with 240 w
is 1 A

240v with 480 w
is 2 A

our dc socket is 240v max anyways unless u decide to overload.
*
As far as charging a phone is concerned, it is the output voltage of the charger that we have to look into. The standard is 5 volts, anything higher with corresponding higher amps are what kills the battery.

If I'm not mistaken we should look at the voltage not the ampere to ensure our battery won't kaboom?

My Sony Car charger output is 1.5A. When the Sony phone's charger itself is only 850mA. (If anyone's wondering it's a Xperia Go which came with free car charger, my sister's phone)  blush.gif
*
I have been charging my phone with my car charger's 2.1A port. There is another 0.5A port, which could barely make it if I am using Navigation. The screen drains a lot. Nothing has happened as long as the output voltage stays within limit of 5V. Of course, I am enjoying myself with the fast charge from the 2.1A port most of the time.

Have you tried the new keyboard with gesture typing ? Is it better than the swype app ?
*
Swype-like feature, but I find Swype's prediction better. Android's keyboard tend to stuck on certain word and never learn. But then again, Swype is bloody laggy if you enable sound+haptic, aside from the loud volume which is not adjustable.

Nothing beats Keymonk keyboard though. 2 fingers swiping. thumbup.gif

The stock 4.2 keyboard also does multitouch, so if you have the skill you can swipe with two fingers simultaneously  smile.gif
*
Does ... it? I tried, it doesn't work by swiping 2 fingers simultaneously. Maybe I need Android 4.2?

2 fingers for?

In the first place, I use swype for single handed typing when my other hand isn't free to type. Since I use it single-handed, how am I going to use its multitouch feature?  laugh.gif

Try Keymonk, if you don't have any idea how it works, check out the video on Youtube. thumbup.gif

It just need a nicer interface now, that is all. Prediction pretty top notch.

Damage already done. Lazy to downgrade, restore and backup with snapea.

Maybe wait a couple days for TiBa to update. smile.gif

My bad, it actually works. Dunno why, TiBa by default would filter to display only System Apps, hence I was unable to backup/restore any apps that are not under system folder. sweat.gif

Anyone know if there's an app to do this:
1) toggle to 2G during screen sleep.
2) does not toggle to 2G if Wifi AP is enabled or during charging.

I believe Tasker can do it (anyone can confirm?), but I'm hoping there's alternative before paying for Tasker.

not suitable for me though (umobile), where it will goes GPRS only. lol

Thanks.

Permission set it was asking for looks dodgy though, but I will give it a try anyway.

EDIT: seems like it's for CM only.
