Guys i`m a stpm graduate..results will b out next week..well i planned on taking geophysics/geology/anything related..just want to know the job prospects in these days. Is it in need?

juz wanna ask few questions here :
1. i hv diploma in a/c maintenance(avionics), can i use my dip for this job?
2. i already visited some website for job hunting n most of them wanna experience person.which cmpny hire freshy like me n how can i apply?

I am quite frustrated with searching over ong companies for internship.Anymore company to suggest or any taiko here can help me?

mechanical engineer. I wanted to go into OnG industry so much. But some of the company like GPS and tedbaker did not recruit any internship student when I called them. Companies like Exxon never answer my phone while I was calling them continuously for 2 months through their main line, but I was too late for their intake after I got them.Companies like VME process,scomi and technip never even bother to reply me after i sent them my application. They only reply me with the engineering department haven reply the hr when i check with them. Aih. I applied since dec and my list of companies is increasing but not even one reply me

some OnG HR always advertise and wanting fresh grads as their employers.. easier to mould i think..

i'm not so sure of how ppl first get into OnG but sure a lot of them enter bcoz of cable ... 

OK so many pages came and went i'll try to remember to reply what i can. SOmeone asked about Talisman? if got offer, then GO grab it. It's one of the main contractors around that actually pays well. However, it also depends on which line u're getting in.

Well, there are so many O&G co. around, so many fields, some work offshore, some work in the office. Some work in remote places while others enjoy the buzz of city life. So, in a way, you choose to become what you are... Got to lie on the bed that you've made, right?

It seem everyone interested join this field. If looking for high paid. yes it is because of the risk and nature of business. However bear in mind its depend on field ages which till now everyone will expected there are no more oil to be drilling.

Currently the one who can beat this oil and gas salary is TELCO field. Engineer telco can get easier 6k above now. hehehe....

hi all. I'm a master student, currently doing full time research in petrophysics and rock physics field. i would like to know my chances in oil and gas industry after my graduation. i've heard before that if O&G companies want to hire people with master qualification, they will put us (master holder) in research only. Meaning that, we will mostly spend our time in lab. Not sure whether this is true or not..    Since this is O&G forum full with O&G experienced people, so i'm asking this question. Can i apply for positions other than lab-based like exploration or field engineering, etc2...?
