I went through a nightmare with this company last year in July 2008. Basically, I was fooled into signing up at Giant Ampang Point for the membership cost of RM399. As I thought that the offers were too good to be true, I did a quick check on the internet and found that Priority Guest Sdn Bhd had previously been known as My Ezy Vacation Sdn Bhd, a company which had been blacklisted by Kementerian Pelancongan Malaysia.
What I did next was to ask for refund, which wasnt given by the company on the basis that they hadnt done anything wrong. I disagreed, because I felt that I was the latest person to be scammed by the company, therefore I lodged a complaint to the NCCC(National Consumer Complaints Centre) - http://nccc.org.my/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1 and made a small court claim from the Tribunal for Consumer Claims Malaysia at the Legend Hotel, The Mall.
I then sent a letter to the company to inform them of a court date because they did not want to return my money. The reason I stated was that I felt I was scammed and there were many other complaints to the company on the internet.
When the date of the court case arrived, no one from the company attended. Therefore, the small claims court gave a mandate to the company to pay back the RM399 or to face further legal action. I sent this letter to them in person at Jalan Mamanda, Ampang and they duely sent out a cheque to refund the RM399 membership fee.
It was a very tidious process, but in the end I got my money back. The bigger issue is that the authorities are aware of them now, and therefore they have closed their office and have changed their name again.
I hope that more people will be aware of such scams in the future. If you have been unlucky enough to have been scammed, and would like to get your money back, then I suggest you to try the things I did, it may take some time and effort, but at least in the end you get the satisfaction of getting your money back as well and knowing that the company has been warned by the authorities.
