Hey guys,

RHB has relaunched their EVO card with new figures. Quite interesting as you can find the figures almost identical with HL Mach credit card.

Here are the details of the EVO card.

More T&C could be found here: http://rhb.com.my/Whats_New/cards/evo/terms.pdf

MCC codes listed but this is still too vague. Checked their T&C but didn't mention on the first XXX or so. If it is straight 20% until you hit max RM 50 then it is super amazing.

totally agree but i heard that if you want to buy movie ticket online, you can't get the 20% discount. You have to go to the outlet to buy ticket from there. anyone can confirm this? sad.gif

If online buying movie ticket is not available then it is too bad. sad.gif

I like the colour of the new RHB Evo card.

The gym offer any good? What is the monthly fee (if any) ?

What about petrol?

20% cash back for movies and bowling capped at RM50, spend RM250 already reach the max, better than MBB2 and OCBC where we need to spend RM1K to get RM50.

It is a winner if the Amusement & Entertainment MCC categories (ie. cinemas, ticketing agencies, bowling alleys, commercial sports, tourist attraction, amusement park and much more) are comprehensive. Hope they are able to publish the list.

Any gym goers can call the bank and check the MCC? It would be awesome if gym is included in those MCC.

While doing research for my article on RHB EVO credit card review, I was not really surprised to learn that it does not earn the cardholder anything for petrol BUT I was shocked to find out that one does not even earn a single point for general transactions (other that those specified in RHB T&C).

RHB EVO Visa and MasterCard - It's For Entertainment and eShopping Only.

Hi Gen-X, refer to 4.7, and 4.11 in t&c, only those in cash back category and petrol would not be awarded rewards points. Others retail transactions did get rewards points..

Petrol do not give you any points. Normal spending for items that not included in the cashback category gives you RM1 = 1 point.

Anyone applied for the card yet?

Hi there, here is a latest news about credit card using. In 80 percent of U.S. states, consumers will soon have to pay checkout charges each time they pay with a charge card. It's completely lawful, and retailers are required to disclose it up front. Be prepared to vote with your wallet.

0% interest rate for 6 months. Does it mean if I swipe 6k, I can pay 1k per month without any interest? Just like balance transfer, but save the hassle.

When the Bank Started to Collect Processing Fee from Cardholder at 1st Time...???
Never Heard it Before... rclxub.gif

I think You mean $50 GST of Credit Card isn't it...???
GST (Government Sales & Service Tax) can NOT Waive by the Bank, it is collected by the government and the banks enforce it on behalf of the government, so Your have to Pay it ($50 per Card Annually), they will charge you again next Year (2014) on Your cc Annual Date... nod.gif

Online Purchase is still consider Retail Spending... smile.gif
Retail Spending (Transaction) = All Purchases of Goods or Services (including all the Billing, Insurance, Quit Rent, Assessment Fee...) Charged to the Credit Card
But, NOT Includes : all Cash Advances, Balance Transfer, Instalment Payment Plan, other Credit Plan, Annual Fee & Charges...

Anyone using this card for online transaction before? I can't get the OTP (One-Time Password) when perform the transaction. Called the CS, they said that maybe due to my phone Nokia Lumia 610. I wonder is it really relevant. I've no problem getting OTP from Maybank and Hong Leong Bank but why only RHB. It cause me trouble coz I'm doing online purchasing quite often. Any ideas?

Same here when heard at the sign-up booth here.. It's different from what stated in T&C for this promotion. But if follow standard chartered past experience, then it's still a possibility..

Info from signup booth need to be taken with pinch-of-salt... Cannot trust totally as they are there to "cheat" unsuspecting customers.
