My friends, never in my mind or intention to get any benefit or perks of sharing the titans to our members. My niat is ony to share goodness together becoz not easy to test n found a reliable but yet customizable suspension set to our ride, safer n firmer ride.. To see u all getting better suspension for a safer ride is more than happy oledi.
I never butthurt one. U all got better price coz of your effort.im just facilitate ony.. I oso never ask titan for any special price..but what i want is long term relationship with titan n u all...no worries.. Cheerss..by d way wiliam tq for d consideration.
william of genting.. nah, rainbow penang location: < Rainbow Penang, Padang Serai, Kedah > aaah~ i can still remember my 1st visit.. like 1st luv~ eh; do prepare cash, lotsa cash.. else kena additional cc charge, not a good cheapskater style.. and really be prepared body & soul.. coz either your wallet koyak, your duit koyak, or your cc koyak
Added on November 2, 2012, 6:59 am bots; none serious note; your friend.. male or female? . . . aaargh, demmit.. it's a 'him'
Weather looks good for a cooling tt tonight... I wanna test miuk n amin car again...
Bots, who is this vietnam fella coming for tt? What he plans to 'learn' from us? Poison yes la...
lingeriehouse... mana u... today nasi lemak bumbung open... cuming?
huh?u tested my car last time rite?? ..that was medium setup (7kg frnt 5 kg rear with fine tuned dampers according to my taste) .. a good balance between handling n comfort.. but i want more ! lesser body roll and tighter rear grip...
so yesterday went back to titan.. changed my inspiralution to a more agresive and tighter setup...hehe.. now going for 7kg frnt n 6 kg rear.. more firm less body roll.. but as i say more aggresive.. grrr... but acceptable comfort for me n family.. guys dont follow me.. i try n error punya worang.. hehe.
Morning all... Didn't get to go titan coz was stucked at rcs with xai miuk & rublik. Great stuff n engineering company but not too consumer orientated. They are experts in their field and will do up a set they deem suit ur car best and may not entertain ur request to 'customise' it. Price wise almost double, so cheapskates like me will stick to the cheaper version.
Good input there. Managed to test out the test car?surprisingly not too consumer oriented.. Rcs rcs
Let me rephrase that. I mean their main butter n milk are corporate customers, only started retail walk in customers few years back... No, did not get to test drive the car as they say it will be diff from lala, so he say not an apple to apple comparison... so we no idea how it feels...
Mike, u can buy the rear window fr proton parts centre then go to dr cermin to install. Price is rm1xx.
So xai n rublik, whats d verdict.. ...hmm. At least they provide the test drive car even though its a different car.
fit a 205 tyre on a 225 lim, u ingat ini tamiya ar? i'm looking for a reasonable priced tyre shop ma.. maybe u or anyone reading this can rekemen.. tq veli much
Tamiya oso cant fit..heheh..what tire in your mind? Size? 225 /50 r 16 is it? If no specific requirement how to help..lor..
I think I owe you guys all my REVIEW after visiting RCS on Saturday....so here it goes:
Well, as all may know the visit to RCS has been long overdue. We were supposed to meet Nandha say about 2 weeks back BUT due to some unavoidable circumstances, the visit was postponed and it finally materialized yesterday.
It was me & Rublik who were there first and we met Nandha who later introduced us to his partner Clayton. The first point of discussion that we started off with was on the top mount that definitely needs to be replaced if at all we resorted to taking the RCS dampers. It hit a pit-stop when Clayton shared with us a prototype BILSTEIN dampers that they were working on. Looked really exotic but we didn't go too much in-depth on that. From there, the discussion branched out to the real subject and Clayton took the lead and brought us to their workshop to explain more on RCS as a company and its products.
RCS is actually a chassis development & suspension 'Engineering' company. I bolded the word engineering solely because that was the first thing that impressed me - that RCS does not do custom suspension but they instead engineer them. Its not your run down the store - off the shelf suspensions nor are they off the catalog - piece by piece ordered stuffs then put together stuffs. Their core business has always been in the Motorsports Industry and it was just most recently that they opened their doors for walk-in regular customers. Their stuff are all designed, engineered and manufactured fully at their own backyard. Notable work that they have done extends to many car manufacturer's RnD & Test Unit cars and Clayton was nice enough to show us a test KYB absorbers that was sent to RCS by KYB themselves to engineer the damping and rebound before it goes to their test cars and ultimately into the mass production. He explained how the test absorbers work and the difference of the serviceable & non-serviceable absorbers.
Up next he started talking to us (at this point it was still me & rublik) about their own designed pistons that is the core of their trademark 'Velocity Sensitive Damping'. He explained on its functionality and its mechanics before diving into what I deem only the 'Experts' will talk about - he started talking to us about the Digressive Valving method that RCS uses and how it differs from other method of valving. He also added on how the graph for Digressive Valving reflects on compression and rebound. Don't ask me in depth of what's so great about this method but all I know is that RCS uses an hybrid of Digressive then Progressive Valving which maximizes the benefit of both rebound & compression. He did mention that the most common method of valving is Linear but that is slowly changing. See the video below for more explanation:
Moving on it was his explanation on the whole bit of how their piston rods, shim shacks and monotubes are manufactured and assembled. He showed us side by side comparison of RCS's higher-end Motorsports Series suspension (which retails from RM12k onwards) & the more subtle street-grade Clubman Series suspensions - Both were identical it terms of structure and quality of materials used.
Up next was on their servicing methods and items used. RCS uses only the high grade FUCHS Silkolene Fully Synthetic Oil and some brand of high grade seals (I totally forgot which brand that Clayton mentioned) in their products irregardless for the Motorsports or the Clubman Series lineup - both gets only the best serviceable parts.
***Right after this point, XC & later on after lunch miuk joined us and the whole flow above repeated itself just like how it started off but it got topped off with the nitrogen injection method that RCS uses. There was an interesting explanation as to why RCS chose to use an separate injection method for the nitrogen gas on their monotubes. I would deem it a fair crack as Clayton explained on the advantage of using this method on their products and I found it really sensible. For low volume production like RCS - it would be more suitable.
Now, some may disagree with me on the next few lines but for me these guys know their sh*t.....Their entire business is based on professional racing. It is not a venue for large volume products. When you deal with RCS whose products are racing & motorsports suspension components, you have a distinct advantage in response, quality, delivery, and an understood “it-has-to-be-right-the-first-time” mode of operation. Which explains why XC was not that impressed when Clayton mentioned that they usually don't welcome multiple drive-ins requesting for adjustments to be done on the setting and all because they will practically & theoretically 'engineer' the suspensions for you and ensure it performs to its highest standard whilst meeting all the required compliance and regulation set by the industry. Well, I am sure they will entertain to an certain extend on minor adjustments and all....it's not gonna be like 'You drive out from RCS and you're on your own brother' kinda thing.
All I can say is Suspensions & Chassis Development is their core business and passion. They are not at all looking for volume nor competing against or superseding any other brands or companies. They are benchmarking their products against other exotic brands like OHLINS, BILSTEIN & PENSKE - which is not a bad thing to begin with, you just have set a higher standard for your product.
Now is RCS my cup of tea??? - I don't know and I may never know until I have em' fitted on my ride BUT knowing the background these guys come from and their line of customers and clientele - it maybe a safe bet.
Am I gonna opt for RCS - I haven't decided yet. All I know is that I made full use of my 3-4 hours there to enrich myself on suspension knowledge and its mechanics.
NEXT UP - a visit to TITAN before making up my mind.
***Oh ya, we didn't get to test any ride fitted on RCS as Clayton mentioned that its never gonna be the same testing the suspensions on another ride which has totally different setting and workability. Agree with him on that but maybe the icing on the cake would have been better with a test ride.
wow.. ! seriously a good write up..
go RCS RCS !! missed that session .. oh how unfortunate.. pls xai, do install it so we can have a feel..
At this point of time we have these ppl in the list and the discount is at rm500 (12ppl mark).
