QUOTE(ericng19 @ Oct 25 2012, 03:46 PM) If u guys know mandarin, I'm pretty sure we always get the batch same as Taiwan and many more countries, google search there're plenty of news reporting the iPhone 5 will only launch there either mid-nov or early dec!! Alright, there are many rumours. Agreed. And the official date is not confirmed agreed. However in Taipan USJ, the MEP for maxis is allowing users to place a deposit for pre booking. How is this possible: simple, it might not follow nationwide however you are guaranteed a set once you place the booking. I have attached proof of the booking from me and also another forumer runforagoodcause. Enjoy. Attached thumbnail(s)

QUOTE(janson_kaniaz @ Oct 27 2012, 11:09 AM) the past rumored dates i believe were all true, just that it was pushed back by apple. it all depends on supply, as explained below: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Apple's global rollout plan was addressed in the company's earnings conference call yesterday, with CEO Tim Cook acknowledging in response to a question from JPMorgan analyst Mark Moskowitz that schedules are somewhat fluid based on supply and demand.
" What we did initially, Mark, was we planned the first 30-40 countries prior to introducing the product and rolled those out across September on two different dates. The balance of the quarter we planned with an eye toward the supply and what we think the demand will be, but we do plan these in advance and so it is not a precise science. And we obviously have to plan those with several weeks of notice and so occasionally it can be different than what we think." the green light comes from apple, not our telcos. It's a bit exhausting waiting for the phone but as I told a good friend once, we can try using windows 8 phones or even android phones. But after using apple for so long it is just not possible. However hard we try and say we are frustrated and tired of waiting, those who are apple fans are stuck. We are sadly without a choice. I just hope that In years to come malaysia will have their launches the same day as the US. That seems to be a fleeting dream for now.

QUOTE(xjia @ Nov 1 2012, 06:33 PM) wanted to ask, if let say on 5th NOV can pre order, do i need to order it with the 12/24mths contract phone/package ? Im a post-paid user. Just wondering whether i can buy Iphone5 only with my current post paid plan ?.. As far as I know you have to take a new 12 or 24 month contract. If you already have an iphone plan you can extend the contract. Read the fine print on their website

3 k sounds like the rantings of an inexperienced sales person assuming she is speaking with some non tech customer. We all know the iphone prices rarely change for the sets themselves. The packages offered might change. The sim free prices will always remain around the same region. If one believes the 3 k price first hand, honestly do more research before you even post here.

That is a very valid point. With iphone 4 it was the home button. 4s my buddy's power button got spoilt. All Of this was an easy 1 to 1 swap at maxis or Digi. Shelling out 400-500 bucks extra is nothing. But the inconvenience of sending it back to the country of origin for warranty is something those who purchased overseas sets have to bear. As for us waiting, we gotta just hang in there. After all what is 2 more weeks.
