Last time check on Apple Online Store SG, can't even place an order for iPhone 5. But then just recently, they're now giving estimates of 2-3 weeks. So it seems that their production gonna be recovered in near time.

Well, I still do trust about your rumors though, including the latest ones. It all seems like neither Apple or Maxis can stick to their previously internally committed date (19th Oct for ROI), given the predicament of having not enough stock at launch (especially due to the QC nightmares). There's a logic on that.

My previous comment though is just me saying to that commenter on how "rumors are breaking one by one" do also includes the ones from you. I'm truthfully sorry if you've mistaken on my intention, I even said that I still do trust you since last time.

Eat lemang & grab iPhone 5. I'll be a happy camper.

More money in bank + iPhone 5 in hand will certainly make people like me happier.

Well, most of time even Apple themselves do sell 2 previous version of iPhone alongside the current ones. Same goes for telco.

Dunno about clearing stock or not. Even Digi can't order iPhone 4S thru online anymore. One may deduce that either their current stocks are limited or they're self-imposing limit on orders. And that's also about Apple making way for single SKU to be the only one available for telcos which is the 16 gigger, like Apple Online Store currently does. Again take example of Digi, they dont have 16GB units being advertised.

Yup, looks like Maxis is gearing up for launch pretty much soon. Not necessarily by 2nd nov, but it will still be pretty soon.

There's not much need for them to clear stock anyway.

Don't tell me Maxis already stopped selling iPhone 3GS when they were launching iPhone 4S last time.

Btw, if previous method on books rebate is taken into consideration, I'd say it's most likely done through coupon valid with eligible stores. So if you're buying a phone pre-rebate, then you'd be left with an unused rebate. Yup, suddenly you wont get that RM200 rebate, but you're still entitled to. So better buy next year if you're into that anyway.

In fact, if either way of doing it is implemented (either prediscounted phones or couponing) you'd still better wait after the plan has been implemented. And hey, it's Bajet 2013 though.

Err, fooling? I don't think so.

Revamping their products towards Lightning should be a matter of consistencies, and it's not like your 30 pin connector suddenly lose its features. Plus, being early adopter of new connector standard may become a cons instead of pros for some, especially to those highly vested into dock accessories. Not a damaging issue btw.



And still about the hardware, why putting in a newer, better upgrade should be called fooling? Take Samsung Galaxy Tab series comparison, their current Tab 2 tablets do have much inferior SoCs compared to its last year's Tab 7 Plus and others. And no one implying them as fooling their customers. What Apple has done is the reverse, they're adding much better hardware in the revision. And instead, people accuses them of doing something bad? That's funny.

Btw, to be fair, it's actually those telcos (especially Maxis) that troll the staffs and retailers about the so-called official dates. Granted, the news passed along should be meant for people within the circle only, but yeah, we knew what happened next.

Ok, now no more iPhone 5 date trivia, that also happen to attract trollers from the other side.

For Maxis, they're now laxing abit on the billing for data plans of 1GB and above. Means that Maxis Billshock™ situations should be a thing of past, since they'll now just throttle the connection speed without charging further (unless you want to go high-speed again). Much like how other telcos are currently doing.

For Digi, still hear some speed issues, but the one I've used recently is still quite ok, and much speedier than other services when throttled. Results may vary, depends on sites.

btw, if your concern is regarding LTE connectivity, then gonna wait until next year to find that out. It may be a different ball altogether, since Digi is also supposed to be sharing with Celcom's LTE sites, and vice versa. So each telco looks strong at this point.
