Just wondering whether anyone here is actually using iChat. Even if I have a .Mac account, it pretty useless coz got no kaki to chat with me, so the iChat function is pretty useless at the moment.

By the way, how many have .Mac account and actually using the new iWeb function?

I have an expired .mac account , but I use it for iChat. I use it to talk with my AIM Friends and yes I do use iChat , as now I could use Jabber to connect to MSN Messenger , IRC , Yahoo , ICQ...Pretty cool

If you want to have a Video Chat/Voice Chat/Chat with me , you could PM me..biggrin.gif

No , it requires you to have AIM Account as well (apart from .mac)

No , You can't do that with an Video iPod...Its just for a mac which has iSight [or clone cameras/iSight] bulit-in

Basically if you wanna use iChat mainly for video-chat, the Mac or AIM Account is required.

Should you need to use iChat merely for the chat (minus the VideoChat feature), the above accounts are not required provided that you have the "Jabber Account". The good thing is use can use Jabber in the iChat to chat with others who use MSN Messenger, IRC, Yahoo Messenger and ICQ.

there's also a Bonjour chat function in iChat. TO be honest this is one of the best chat client I have ever use.

You can either use AOL Instant Messeging account or register yourself a FREE .mac trial account. If nobody with a .Mac registering your ID, you're free to use it even if the .Mac trial expired. I've been using 2 free .Mac ID for 3 years now wink.gif

What's Jabber and Bonjour in iChat....?

can I use my existing MSN ID in iChat....?

frankly, if I were to use iChat, it'll be very troublesome registering both AOL and Jabber account just for the sake of MSN contacts....

and I can't seemed to add buddies on Bonjour client.... wacko.gif wacko.gif

anyone care to explain....? huh.gif

Bounjour is for local network only. bring up the live net client on another window, look at the menu bar.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE THAT :

You guys can use 'Jabber' in iChat to chat with your friends who use different platform i.e MSN Messenger, IRC, Yahoo Messenger, ICQ & etc but the "Video-Chat" feature in your iChat ONLY compatible with those who use the same software = "ichat" in Mac OSX (must have .mac account or AIM account only). There is no other way for you to "video-chat" with your friends in different platform i.e other than iChat. Please let me know should you guys manage to do that rolleyes.gif
