What gar is that?

Wowow nice looking fish how big are they now?

Recently gave away four Gars because my Dad happpened to watch them feeding and was horrified. Ranged from over 2ft to one just slightly smaller than my Arapaima.

Sayang but he's against using live feeders hence my shift to fishes that go for pellets like the lazy Arapaima who won't take live food anymore when my worker's wife practically hand feeds him.

So far none of the Gars have bitten me or even come close to showing any aggressive behaviour towards me from when they were in grow out tank and even in pond I used to get in with 3ft Gars circling but so long as they don't feel cornered no worries.

Around 18" I moved them from tank to pond and during that time in the tank they used to give me room to do water change and cleaning etc. If I take longer than usual they'd come close to sort of reestablish their space (I'm speculating) so a tap on the head to show them who is boss settled that once and for all.

Hand feeding being bitten have the risk.
Is the feeder too short?
Are u holding on the tail of feeder while hand feeding?
These two might help decreased the chances of being bitten.
Beside, big fishes need to be ferocious, so why go sayang them with your tiny fragile hand.

Hey guys wanna ask for advice. How do u train a gar to eat pellets??

lol...you can tried it but make sure you better removed the oscar la cos this fish very ferocious when no food/hungry they will attacks other fish.

I want small package as well. Wanna try for my bichirs and turtle, even feeders if they take it.
Aiyo.. gars and aro rarely mixed. Separate them la bro, kesian ur aro. I already transfer puyu to turtle tank, just only because he keeps on following aro when feeding, waiting for leftovers.
