is i have been asking around, but seems there is no firm answer so far. i am planning to buy SME set from forumer at garage sales, everybody saying their units are SME original, how do i know they are not giving me AP set but i am paying for original price?

Somebody suggest to check for SME sticker, but sticker can be fake right?

Any method such as taking the imei number can call samsung malaysia to check?

Please advise.

if his/her phone is under warranty or register under eWarranty
then you can sms to check with the phone imei

i mean if i am buying a new unit and seller claims that the phone is new and not registered for warranty yet, so no way i can check right?

1. Check IMEI
2. Samsung has E-warranty whereby seller need to register it if it is a original SME set
3. Call Samsung to verify the IMEI code

Just check by sending sms like other forumer given above. If not register yet, then dont register it. This is what i do if i get my samsung phone. When im going to sell it then i will register.
