Right now i'm kinda stuck between Razer black widow stealth ultimate and the K90. Reason is because theyre both exactly where my budget stands, I would like to get a Ducky shine 2 but since its a present its not nice to ask for more as it is now.

RM400 with backlit mech keyboard.

So im deciding between so its also between red and brown xD
*
I suggest test it first, i was also in dilemma of these switches, until I went to heavy-arm shop and test it myself... Personally I felt the brown is much better in terms of feeling and typing as there is a slight feedback so that you can feel the key is being recognised...

At the end I choosen Ducky Shine 2 Mx Brown from heavy-arm...

Razer black widow stealth ultimate isn't finger print magnet? or they changed to mat?

well, at heavyarm, the boss is kind and friendly enough to let you try all the types of switches, last time, i went there to buy razer mousepads, then i asked him to let me try some mechanical keyboards, and without any hesitation, he opened up some duckies for me to try, so in the end i managed to try out all the four switches even though i never bough any of them that day.

Pretty good service i would say, at least better than some sellers who are very reluctant to allow you to touch or open up products if you didnt express your intention to buy them  sweat.gif
*
ya their boss is friendly... my first intention was to get filco majestouch 2.. then the boss told me, why buy filco where you can get ducky shine 2 with the same price...if get filco why nt get rosewill, same manufacturer but Rm100 cheaper...

then he let me test whole bunch of keyboard...

but storm rapid doesn't has the numpad....= (
the reason why i want to buy a keyboard is becos to get a external keyboard from my laptop. cos my laptop keyboard is heaty when i play games, and the tables is high, my shoulder will suffer pain when play long time...
since i wan get a keyboard i hope i can get the full key one, cos my laptop also no numpad keys, and the F1-F12 are stacks with different functions...so its quite annoying....= (
hmph...maybe. steelseries keyboard intro there got alot of rewards and best product cert thinggy...

yes! there are others keyboards come along with special media control setting, Razer Lycosa... but very lots of bad comments about it...lol
*
never get lycosa!!! there's a cheaper brand with full size mech keyboard... rosewill.. Rm299 many ppl here are using it~

That was just the RK9000BRI which is already available in MY. Last visit to Heavy Arm shows that there's 1 left.

Not the Rosewill. Rosewill's surprise will come Q1 next year. The next batch of "surprise" comes middle of this month. Limited units in November, more in December.

It is something affordable. Topre, HHKB Pro, they are all good but only appeals to hardcores like you guys. Market cannot accept them as mainstream products yet tongue.gif

Hi guys, I'm new to mechanical keyboards. Currently thinking of getting one which will be use mostly for typing and maybe gaming once in a while. Can give a recommendation as to which type of switches is the best for typing and keyboard models that will suit my needs? Thanks.
*
I'm typing this with my blue switch keyboard... to be honest, I've tested all switches and I think blue switch is the best switch to type on as the tactile feedback is really helpful to recognise that you hit on that key. Aside from the loud clicking noise, blue required the less effort to type on, and this will help you if you are more to a typing person.

But personally I'll take the brown switch, because it is less noise as compared to blue(still will have come clicky noise because these are mechanical keys anyway) still provides some tactile feedback to your finger. I got Ducky Shine 2 mx brown for my daily typing and gaming..

IMO, Black is too tight to type on because it required more energy to hit the keys.(by testing only, I already felt fatigue on my hand..) tongue.gif I just don't like the black switch.. LOL

Red infact is a love and hate switches to me. I love the smooth action of the red, but when I try to type on it, it just make me like mistype a lot of words.. I not sure why, maybe is my typing style or I just suck at typing~

For my 1 month only mechanical keyboard experience, I'll suggest you either blue or brown for all rounded usage.

Thanks for the fast reply.

I'm actually contemplating between the blue and brown switches as well. Maybe I'll try out with the brown switches since the sound is not that loud. Any particular models which are nice?

that will be depends on your budget.. smile.gif

My budget is around 400. Any recommendations for this price range?
Thanks for the advise, maybe will find some time to drop by the store one of these days.

There is a tenkeyless design which is doesn't have numpad included; and a full size keyboard.

I'll need a full size keyboard as the numpad is essential to my work. Back light is optional, but is there any models whereby I can switch the lights on or off? Media keys and gaming functions are not necessary for me as the main usage will be for work. Thanks.

Rosewill RK-9000BR is a good choice as priced only Rm299 for a full size mechanical keyboard

If you want backlighting, Ducky is a good choice but will over budget as it priced at Rm449

There is a Rosewill Blue Illuminate RK-9100BR priced at RM399, blue led brown swtich.
