QUOTE(kyrmian @ Nov 9 2012, 12:04 PM) Bought them off an auction, has been searching for them like crazy. How much is it? Also, how well is their glow in the dark performance? Do they last long enough? |

QUOTE(noobandroid @ Nov 10 2012, 10:12 AM) I'll make my first attempt to answer some of this, the other fellows will help to elaborate on this, later This post has been edited by Human10: Nov 10 2012, 01:52 PM1. rubber dome (normal keyboard) is much harder in push force, and quality inconsistency is all there is to it, good thing it is not expensive, mechs are lighter and consistent quality as they use cherry switch mostly, and can be replacable when one of the switch is damaged, which you cant do on normal keyboards In other words, rubber dome can't last long enough, particularly in the typing/tactile feel. Rubber dome can ever win mechanical in term of keys durability and consistency(though, it isn't that mechanical switch will not age or broken down, just that their aging is not too noticeable and broken down is rare and can be fixed easily) 2. mechs are expensive as there are costs in each of the switches, instead of like normal keyboards, they are a piece of board with keys only. mechs are also more durable than of conventional keyboards, and each switch makes the keyboard heavier The individual switch itself is what contribute to most of the Bill Of Material of a mech kb. If you go and purchase it individually, it will cost at least RM2+ for each switch. Cherry Corp is a german company. 3. ss7g is less desirable, recommended brands will be NOT the gaming brands, so go for ducky, rosewill, cm storm quickfire rapid, and if want on the lower budget will be keycool or hep (find in taobao) |

QUOTE(CyntrixTech @ Nov 11 2012, 08:43 PM) Our Surprise for You in November The 9087G2 with white PBT, obamanotbad.jpgAlright fellow mechanical keyboard fans, no more teaser. What we are bringing in November is not "unknown" to everybody in here. But we will be distributing these going forward. First of all, we will have a very limited batch of Ducky Shine 9087G2-Pro in black casing and White PBT, as seen on Ducky's facebook as the "Finland edition" *Picture too huge, hence enclosed in spoiler* » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Finally, in Q1 next year, there'd be something awesome. hint - Not from Ducky Now, those who already booked this keyboard, tell me your "chech" moment. It should be the first attempt of BL keyboard without backlit keycaps. Added on November 11, 2012, 10:17 pm QUOTE(CyntrixTech @ Nov 11 2012, 09:57 PM) Not the limited edition 9087G2Pro White PBT? QUOTE(zongeva @ Nov 12 2012, 06:11 AM) Uh did you left out the Blue LED MX Blue, or it is not available? lol Wah, completely no branding(almost). I am sold. Also, is it possible to order the green switch and the variable weight (MX Blue and MX Green mix) boards? Besides, even CM Storm has MX Green lol http://www.cmstore-usa.com/quickfire-rapid...d-green-switch/ http://www.cmstore-usa.com/trigger-mechani...aming-keyboard/ Seems like those whiners at Geekhack really affected the vendors to "improve" their products. QUOTE(bai1101 @ Nov 13 2012, 03:48 PM) Hmm, those side printed WASD. How you did that? Added on November 13, 2012, 4:04 pm QUOTE(siles1991 @ Nov 13 2012, 04:00 PM) Can I ask the only diff between the DK-9008S2 and the DK-9087S2 is just without the numpad right? Is there anything like they made the keys smaller and put it closer together? No, at least not possible. Most Cherry MX boards had a fixed size to follow due to the switch size. Also, you won't be able to type as comfortable when the size got further shrink down... QUOTE(joyformidable @ Nov 13 2012, 04:25 PM) i just ordered a plum mx 96 green switch from taobao. will tell you how it feels when it gets here.. I assume you mean "é"(which is blue switch)? I don't remember they actually have the MX Green version.Added on November 13, 2012, 6:25 pm QUOTE(bai1101 @ Nov 13 2012, 04:30 PM) Sticker i cut myself stick on blue keycap than spray clear coat cover it first... after it dry than i cover with black color. LOL, so complicated...Added on November 13, 2012, 6:27 pm QUOTE(bai1101 @ Nov 13 2012, 04:56 PM) Actually, their original idea is to produce cheaper switch to make way for cheaper Mech KB. It is first designed by those kb enthusiast.Rapoo is the first one who come out using those switch(in yellow color). Later more and more clone of rapoo popped out, using clone switch of other color. For Genius M1, they even troll around and mix black(original cherry MX black) with red(fake kailh) switch, trying to confuse ppl, lolol. This post has been edited by Human10: Nov 13 2012, 06:27 PM |

QUOTE(jojoflow @ Nov 13 2012, 06:33 PM) Any ETA for the Quick Fire TK to hit Malaysian shores? I will say PLUM96 can be the better choice here. Since you are going to use it oversea, warranty is no longer a issue or point here.Plum96 having a more normal layout, hence easier to find replacement keycaps(with the exception of spacebar, same problem faced by Keycool or Leopold). It has wireless function, good for laptop or on the go uses. PCB mounted, lighter when put in your laptop bag. PBT/POM keycaps by default, which should last you quite a long time unless you hand itchy want to change keycaps for the sake of changing, LOL. Added on November 13, 2012, 8:39 pm QUOTE(kaiserreich @ Nov 13 2012, 07:24 PM) Green is the new Red Switch. Marketing, marketing everywhere. Previously everyone was so excited on getting Red switch boards, now Green is all hyped up BTW, currently still deciding whether to do some switch swapping on my Razer BWU. Already open it up(due to broken one switch when changing keycap) and dump it aside for months already, LOL. Currently having 2 second hand(like new, cause I purchase the least used part of the keyboard, lol) MX clear PCB which sum up to a total of around 100 switches. If anyone else is also itchy hand and impatient to wait for the rumored MX purple, getting 2nd hand clear board and do stem swapping can be a good alternative. Added on November 13, 2012, 8:41 pm QUOTE(joyformidable @ Nov 13 2012, 07:47 PM) well i asked the taobao agent for blue, then he said no blue only green. and i was like.. ooookkkk green also green la.. ē½č²é轓 é轓 means MX Blue.i google'd é it says green woo... Real MX Green will be 绿轓 é=blue in Japanese or older Chinese. Like the Justice Pao, it actually means blue sky instead of green sky. This post has been edited by Human10: Nov 13 2012, 08:42 PM |

QUOTE(Nagashiro @ Nov 13 2012, 08:22 PM) Guys , question to ask all the sifus. Need more details of it. Meanwhile, try to remove it and reseat it properly/tightly and see if it solve the problem.I realise sometimes when i was typing my space bar can actually come up.. What do I do to prevent it happen.. it is annoying. Model: Ducky 9008G2 If not, use your hand and try to move the stabilizer switch to see if it is tight. |

QUOTE(Proclaimer @ Nov 16 2012, 04:28 PM) Yes thats true, but why not make it better with some simple add ons to the keyboard? Some simple media and short cut key wouldnt hurt right? The reason is that not gamers only cover a portion out of the whole mech kb users, where the others prefer a normal, plain, simple and clean look. So put an old/vintage layout will be safer than mess around and "improve" them. Why limit to the same old design of keyboard? Switch i already know what i want, just that im finding for a keyboard that is not so plain. Keycaps are universal or certain brands only do follow the same design and size? Media and short cut key wouldn't hurt anything, if it doesn't compromise the basic needs(Razer BWU's macro tend to be miss-pressed) and built quality of a keyboard. Ducky and Filco(Camo) are good example of boards with media/short cut keys yet didn't compromise anything necessary. Old is gold, LOL. Some hardcore kb ethusiast even willing to pay premium price for some old and EOLed kb. Don't be shocked that the Model M SSK in the post above can easily cost over 200USD, not to mention some more unique board cost over 2.5kUSD, trololol. "Gaming" brands may suit you best. When tok about keycaps, we will see the profile and layout(size). Profile determine the height of keys(normally it won't bother much as most mech kb out there is using DCS profile, just that there may be a height difference between different brands). Layout wise, most of the kb we saw in Malaysia is following the US ANSI layout. Just that there may be some specific keyboards tend to use different standard of spacebar(length), modifier keys(Ctrl, Alt and so), and enter+backspace+right shift(refer to SS7G for details). QUOTE(JohnDiew0107 @ Nov 16 2012, 05:31 PM) for me, gaming brand is consist of a group of marketing department folks telling us that how their boards will help you pwn others in a game. I can't stop LOL at the memeface...they terribly lack of understanding and passion in making REAL mechanical boards. Pathetic. Just look at the layout and modifier size choices they decide to use. Not to mention what corsair did to their K60 and K90. conclusion, gaming keyboard? yeah, sure. ![]() QUOTE(meee @ Nov 16 2012, 05:20 PM) That is the price for 4. But it isn't really a rare/isolated case that the board(MX5000) being sold at above 2k USD. Almost everytime you found it(NIB), it will be sold at over 2k.This post has been edited by Human10: Nov 16 2012, 06:00 PM |
