Wow, where do you source those Cherry Glow In Dark keycaps? I thought they EOLed already?

How much is it? Also, how well is their glow in the dark performance? Do they last long enough?

Haha, taobao always had those weird promo on special date. Last time October or 10.10 they also come out with their independence day promo, LOL.

Also, you won't be able to type as comfortable when the size got further shrink down...

I assume you mean "青"(which is blue switch)? I don't remember they actually have the MX Green version.

Added on November 13, 2012, 6:27 pmActually, their original idea is to produce cheaper switch to make way for cheaper Mech KB. It is first designed by those kb enthusiast.

Rapoo is the first one who come out using those switch(in yellow color). Later more and more clone of rapoo popped out, using clone switch of other color.

For Genius M1, they even troll around and mix black(original cherry MX black) with red(fake kailh) switch, trying to confuse ppl, lolol.

I will say PLUM96 can be the better choice here. Since you are going to use it oversea, warranty is no longer a issue or point here.

Plum96 having a more normal layout, hence easier to find replacement keycaps(with the exception of spacebar, same problem faced by Keycool or Leopold).

It has wireless function, good for laptop or on the go uses.

PCB mounted, lighter when put in your laptop bag.

PBT/POM keycaps by default, which should last you quite a long time unless you hand itchy want to change keycaps for the sake of changing, LOL.

BTW, currently still deciding whether to do some switch swapping on my Razer BWU. Already open it up(due to broken one switch when changing keycap) and dump it aside for months already, LOL.

Currently having 2 second hand(like new, cause I purchase the least used part of the keyboard, lol) MX clear PCB which sum up to a total of around 100 switches. If anyone else is also itchy hand and impatient to wait for the rumored MX purple, getting 2nd hand clear board and do stem swapping can be a good alternative.

Real MX Green will be 绿轴

青=blue in Japanese or older Chinese. Like the Justice Pao, it actually means blue sky instead of green sky.

Need more details of it. Meanwhile, try to remove it and reseat it properly/tightly and see if it solve the problem.

If not, use your hand and try to move the stabilizer switch to see if it is tight.

There are rumors kicking in GH regarding the MX Purple, due to the demand of ergo clear. They want something with the stem of clear and spring of blue/red/brown.

Heard that DA is their last great mouse, lol.

It is like tossing a coin. You lucky, you get a faultless one, unlucky then it will be plagued.

Pricing around RM200(vary according to different switch types) and another RM20+ to ship it to Malaysia(your house door).

Find it in taobao and then use an agent to help you purchase it.

The reason is that not gamers only cover a portion out of the whole mech kb users, where the others prefer a normal, plain, simple and clean look. So put an old/vintage layout will be safer than mess around and "improve" them.

Media and short cut key wouldn't hurt anything, if it doesn't compromise the basic needs(Razer BWU's macro tend to be miss-pressed) and built quality of a keyboard. Ducky and Filco(Camo) are good example of boards with media/short cut keys yet didn't compromise anything necessary.

Old is gold, LOL. Some hardcore kb ethusiast even willing to pay premium price for some old and EOLed kb. Don't be shocked that the Model M SSK in the post above can easily cost over 200USD, not to mention some more unique board cost over 2.5kUSD, trololol.


"Gaming" brands may suit you best.

When tok about keycaps, we will see the profile and layout(size). Profile determine the height of keys(normally it won't bother much as most mech kb out there is using DCS profile, just that there may be a height difference between different brands). Layout wise, most of the kb we saw in Malaysia is following the US ANSI layout. Just that there may be some specific keyboards tend to use different standard of spacebar(length), modifier keys(Ctrl, Alt and so), and enter+backspace+right shift(refer to SS7G for details).

That is the price for 4. But it isn't really a rare/isolated case that the board(MX5000) being sold at above 2k USD. Almost everytime you found it(NIB), it will be sold at over 2k.
