For GC you need to follow this :

Battery Negative to
- Alternator body (negative) <-- Important point
- Gear box
- Engine ( can more than 1 point )
- Firewall /Car body ( can more than 1 point/ loop from engine )

EDGE GC come with 1 output 5 set and 3 external. The 3 external you may add from battery negative to engine or from engine to firewall / body (loop).

Last question. What is the ve cable for and do I need it?

The +VE cable so call alternator booster / Positive cable.

For your car if you want this better take 1500VE.

This cable connect from alternator positive to battery positive (original point). It allow better charge / response so user will feel improvement of performance as well.

Only install GC below RM100, HKS brand....

bro ..for campro car without quality GC little giant only 50% effect only.

Already mention in 1st page, CAMPRO car must have good GC installed. Without that I can't sell you EDGE VS, because you might feel wasting money with less effect.

volkswagen new beetle can install?

Most of these car can use :
12V battery petrol car with or without ECU
12V battery diesel car with ECU

some 12V battery diesel car without ECU claim got effect as well.
