Dear friends,

I'm having muscle pain for 2 days at my back and my calf after body combat class and cycling on that same day, i know I shouldn't cycle after body combat, but I don't feel like leaving the gym just yet because i think i have not sweat enough. My bad. But yesterday, when i wokeup, i felt pain, not that kind of sharp pain, it's just the normal pain, i would say soreness that I usually get after workout, on my back. But today, I felt my calf damn pain, it's more than soreness, but it's still bearable. I've stopped going to gym yesterday, I so wanted to go today, but i don't think I can do anything there. I tried to use counterpain, in case you don't know, it's a analgesic balm, which the pharmacy recommended, but it doesn't really help. Now, whenever i tried to straighten my legs, its still hurt. Please help. I want to hit back to gym tomorrow. I've missed today's combat. sad.gif

Do you guys have any remedy that can stop soreness after workout, and if it's pain, what's the fastest way to heal. I've googled on it, and they asked me to rest, and said the pain will take 5 to 7 days to heal. But it's too long for me.

Thank you in advance for your kind advice. smile.gif

Last time my muscle pain/soreness will last for a week, most painful is 2 days after.. Can't take big steps, can't raise my arm to change cloth & need to hold on something to stand up in toilet.. sweat.gif

Then after i read randomly in google.. Found out that i'm lack of nutrition especially protein to repair my muscle.. You can get protein easily from HL milk or egg.. I don't think it will make you big if you don't take too much calories..

Stretch your muscle before and after workout even if its pain, yea.. There's warm up and also cool down.. laugh.gif

Most important is don't overwork your muscle, you need to rest.. I went for K-pop, Zumba, Body combat and other workout on sunday.. Alot of fun kicking, squatting and jumping.. Then go shopping walking like a crab..

Thank you so much Amedion. Wow, K-pop, Zumba and Body combat in a stretch is a real rclxub.gif for me... haha... I just joined Celebrity Fitness last week, so all these things are new to me. Never know that i like body combat so much, and love those machines so much until i joined them. I guess that's why i felt uneasy if i stop for a day or two. Usually working on the machines won't cause soreness for me. The only time that makes me sore like hell is the RPM, which i have to rest for 2 weeks. I swear i won't go for RPM class again. Maybe i should take everything slowly.

By the way, what is a Zumba? Heard that it's fun. smile.gif

Body combat release 53 will hurt your body if you are not fit enough and not pouching / kicking the correct way. During BC, take the option when you feel pain rather than push beyond what your body can take.

I often go BC then RPM back to back. Enough rest + eat correct before workout will help a lot.

What do you mean by release 53.

For the previous body combat classes, i'll take a 30 minutes run on a threadmill first before the class starts, and it goes well with me.
But last two days, because i'm late for class, i don't do the threadmill, and straight away go to class. After class I still feel ok, no pain, then i go for cycle for 20 minutes only. The next day i got this pain. smile.gif

Release 53 means the latest moves and music tracks.

Straight go in mean you did make it to the first few tracks for warming up? Cycle you mean by your own or you join the RPM class?

I also dunno what is Zumba.. Very rojak.. Got shakira dance, hip hop, belly dance abit, etc..

You just joined last week meaning that your body is not fit enough.. Its normal for everyone.. Frequent workout will solve the problem..

Btw, try not to use so much strength and force yourself to follow what the trainer show u.. It's okay to do it wrongly, no one gonna laugh.. Relax your body, learn the basics, breath and do it comfortably.. It's like writing with my left hand.. no matter how hard i try my writing still sux and i wear it out very quickly or sometimes will get cramp.. if im using my right hand, i can use any strength i wan..

my english not top notch, i hope u understand me.. lol

OIC. Thank you for the info. smile.gif

Yup, i did manage to go in for the first few track, means i manage to go to class 5 minutes before the class starts. Cycle after combat class means that i cycle on my own, the stationary cycle, not RPM. smile.gif

Thank you Amedion. I understand... smile.gif

Yea, i think i did too much during my last workout in the gym. Hopefully i can solve it slowly. Hahaha... Thank you so much. I think for the time being, i'll just stay at home walking my dog as my exercise while waiting for mu muscle to recover. smile.gif By the way, the analgesic balm that the pharmacist recommended does not really heal... So sad.

Stretch before workout real good (15-30mins for me + lil cardio), stretching after workout (barbell complexes for me) and have a post workout recovery and a real good post workout meal.

Btw, I don't recommend eating too much bananas a day. Maybe 1-2 will be fine. I take my bananas before working out thou.
