Nasi Kerabu!!

I used to be a bit scared of eating raw vege or malays call it as Ulam! But once, my colleague home made and bring Nasi Kerabu bento for me and i absolutely fallen in love with it! With the budu sauce and solok lada... gosh it's heaven!! It's incomplete without the salted egg of course.

Where is the best place to have Nasi Kerabu in KL???

It's suppose to be mix with budu sauce, when you eat not really dry.

You need to mix it with the vege, salted egg and budu ... tasty crunchiness

It's naturally derive from a flower the coloring ... the flower is known to used to food coloring...make the rice more wangi

Lol its true they use coloring but the original nasikerabu used some sort of leave / flower to make it blue..

FYI: rice is blue becuz of the leaf/flower on which it is steam with.
good kerabu i had in kelantan.
in kl valley area not sure but in shah alam seksyen 6 pasar malam there got good kerabu

you should try .. maybe you'll like it...

Usually they serve with Daging Bakar or Ikan Goreng one... but certains stall got provide other side dishes also ...

If you know the Pasar Tengahari @ Menara Weld, there is one selling with daging bakar. Their solok lada is heaven!! But disappointed with the daging bakar cause way too dry and hard to chew.

budu sauce izzit with the chillies mixture that taste salty?

not sure about KL i had several in pj and subang none of them were good :/

At first i am like what you are saying.... raw vege taste weird... but to my surprise this don't taste weird at all!! Maybe due to the taste of the budu and the vege is mixed with the rice and salted egg before consumption

I can't say all this days use the flower as colouring but mostly if they cook it traditional way, they use that flower.

Or else there are also Nasi Kerabu that serve in white pandan rice.

original flower the rice is not bright blue but more of a pale blue color.

U can try nasi kerabu at restoran belanga inside empire subang..the daging bakar so tender but the rice portion so small..u might want to ask extra rice..

Hahaha... i look for this during Ramadhan also, but the stall that sells this doesn't taste good at all ... my colleague home made one pawn all that i tasted so far kinda sad she merajuk no wan make for me liao cause that time i say i hate raw vege

U can check at Chanburi , Kg Baru or Kak Som also at Kg Baru . Both delicious !!
