Personally I won't trust TM's email service. About 2years ago, I was corresponding with TM support regarding some tm issues, I use TM's webmail as at the time I didn't bother to install email client. One day suddenly all my emails within their server was gone.

Now that I have no issues with them... since then till now all the spam/rubbish crap emails are still in there. Very suspicious. I have since moved to gmail for my email services.

Wow 8mb already? For Streamyx only RM160? Reasonable but how we know if its supported in our areas?

Anyway just noticed 203.106.xxx.xxx range today for 4MB user.

I seriously doubt unifi will ever reach my area since its not high income area.

Anyway how will this be cap?
Will it be like our 4mb (4096) ask to be cap at 5120.

So 8192 ask them to cap at 9126 to enjoy full 8mb or just 8192?

So all areas that already has 4mb already supported this 8mb yet?

Ever tried D-link modems? Quite stable.

Bummer asked TM about 8mb no port and too far yet my road was listed. Maybe still too early for my area to have it.

@whatman you can try change your house wire see if it makes any difference it does for me a bit raise few points in SNR Margin, if its outside your house nothing much you can do. I had roughly same problem after issues with my port at the DSLAM they took my connection to a new DSLAM which is further away I lost a lot of SNR Margin some times DC but overall more stable speed.


BTW anybody noticed new ip range for steamyx? Started to noticed 118.101.82.xxx today.

First time seeing this range 110.159.xxx.xxx. Maybe tmnut is running out of ranges. I am sure its been around a while now only just first time seeing it in my area.

Quite frankly these few years I have been mostly 24/7 under VPN service. The few times that I don't use VPN, the speed of web browsing is bad compare to using it.

Besides using VPN especially those that claim not to log you or just kept weekly log at most, gives me a peace of mind from big brother.

For brief period today I was able to connect to 1.9.206.XX. Never seen this IP before, I think was able to connect to vpn services with it then it stop responding decided to reconnect my modem to get different ip. It seems to be TM's IP. Anyone else seen it b4?

Its not as big deal, if connected ip can't browse I simply reconnect. I encounter similar issue in past on different DSLAM's port. I was told by TM tech that they determine it to be slightly faulty issue with their equipment. Its been a number of years since I encountered it after they shifted me to new DSLAM port.

Private IP? 1.9.206.XX is definitely TM's IP I already checked.

Well just now I was able to get this IP range. I wonder if the port I am connected to is acting up a bit. Screenshot is combination of ProxyJudge and Router screenshots. First 1.9.206.xxx then this 202.188.xxx

I finally decided to complain this morning at Kedai Telekom about line issue where severe static sounds affecting my internet & phone calls. Help desk phone 100 and let me speak with them instead of writing report right there (Lazy!). Its being going on for 4-5 months but it really deteriorate last 2 months. My Line Attenuation increased from 36-37 to 40-45. Line cap either at 3mb 2mb 1mb and worse less then 1mb. With Telekom's modems I can't even get online at all but only Dlink could with countless DC daily.

I was worried it was my apartment line issue. They came within few hours after complain, at first claim my apartment line kena lightning I might need to pay outside contractor lots of $$$. They later went to check the apartment main. Found out there is sound as well they then tried other apartments same issue! They finally went outside to TM Box and fix it there. What a relieve didn't have to pay for contractor.

1. I didn't want to made a complain and wait for them to come over. I tried to anonymous complain through emails because I thought issue was with TM Box but TM's respond was kept asking for personal info before doing any checking on their TM Box which turns out to be the culprit.

2. Seems this issue affected whole apartment block but nobody complains for months?!

3. A neighbour I know whose family member works at Telekom was given free rewiring recently and they confirm with me their internet has DC issues but they never get Telekom technician to come over to check properly? WTF.

At least now I can get back to good surfing.

Thanks for the info. I actually did called 100 previously but somebody who sounds suspiciously like foreigner(?) told me my streamyx id and pass would work but it didn't. When I tried login tmbill.tm.net.my/SelfCare/Maintenance/selfcareChangePasswordTMWifi.jsp it says Sorry! You don’t have any TM WiFi Account.

I cannot login to TM Wifi get Invalid ID/Password

Call 100, waited sometime got CS, who after checking see if I use my username@streamyx pass then says I should be able to login, then not sure what to do. I ask him to reset he claims cannot reset. I ask him to write case report, waited couple mins claims cannot write report ask I speak with Product and Services as he isn't sure bla bla bla transfer me to Product and services waited another 10-15mins with "all our lines CS are busy" or something decided to hang up.

Received email from TM: ...please be informed that promotion of FREE TM WIFI id if customer register after Septermber 2010. Upon checking in our system, we found that you subcribe the package on early 2010. Thus, please be advise to migrate the package at the nearest TMpoint to get FREE TM WIFI id.

What the hell is migrate? Resubscribe to new contract along with technician comes over? Bullshit!

Last time I changed between 2 different 4mb plan (newer one was cheaper) I had to be under new contract then make appointment & wait for technician to come over then he doesn't show up I had to waste my time reschedule and even forced 100 to give me their technician's phone to personally call him. I rather not waste time for this again.

I contacted tm through email & called product & services both agreed no need for new contract or have technician to come over as its just a simple migration process. However when I went to Kedai TM they insist they will not approve my application without new 1 year contract and a technician must come over as well as give me a new wifi modem which I don't want. Even with the email from tm support they still won't approve it. I hope to refer this matter back to 100 for approval.

TM's Bureaucracy at its finest. A simple matter must be refer back and forth.

Its basically wasting my time to go to Kedai TM after both 100 & tm email said no need new contract or technician come over. This just pisses me off right now.

Case finally resolved. It only took some time & countless number of emails and with help of CFM. I finally received a call on Friday from a higher up at TM Jl Burmah, Penang telling me if I sign new contract the penalty is waived, I agreed provided I don't see any technician and I don't receive new modem from them. They told me my username was used by somebody else for tm wifi id so they provide me with another one but the password was suppose to be same as my Streamyx but it didn't work. I had to return on Monday to get them to reset and changed to another password which they called 100, 1st support reset wrong username I think but she quickly hangup on me shakehead.gif after realizing it. TM Jl Burmah staff had to called 100 again and get another person to reset properly for me.


On other topic, I didn't know TM recently changed their authorization system for Streamyx. It used to be if you type wrong username or password in dial up you can't log in. Now it seems if you type correct username and wrong password you could log in but when trying to browse it takes you to TM Captive Portal http://10111101101.walledgarden.tm/

Nope I am using retail dlink modem I bought from shop. Besides last time on same modem it never showed this. I rarely use windows dial up to access the internet, I usually use a dlink router behind the modem to auto connect. This time I was checking my SNR Margin / Line Attenuation so I just use Windows 8 default dial up.
