I perfer pool view 3-7 floors. Why ?

1. Cheaper.
2. Can see birds. Lively.
3. Noise from pool will be gone at night anyway.

Depending on your viewing.
If city view definitely prefer higher floor.
If pool view, surely lower floor.

If given a choice, my priority is high floor with city view and above 10 floor.

Higher floors are further away from the highways and should sound quieter. However, some thought that noise levels are higher with units located at the higher floors. Any comments from those who have lived in condo apartments for most part of their lives?

my preference would be somewhere in the middle. Not too high,not too low. That is for staying la.

For rental, I always think the lowest is thebest coz in most places, the lowest floor is the cheapest. Therefore more margin for you to play around in rental compared to owners who bought higher floor than you.

He has no choice but to charge higher rental coz his monthly installment also higher.

Higher floors are sound quieter during day time, but noisier at night night time. The theory behind, should be in secondary school physic text book, but I forgot dy...haha...

One floor above swimming pool, can use staircase and dont have to wait for lift.

High floor but a couple of levels below penthouse.

Sure, but there are people who pick pool view yet want to be at higher floors. So in relative terms, lower floor pool view is cheaper than higher floors pool view.

Birds aside, I think pool is lively, clean pool if it is.

If you pick a few floors away from the lowest, can still get the smell from the rubbish dump ?

There is a different theory to this.

Imagine that your condo is part of the building which forms a valley to a noise generating source such as LRT/MRT.

When the noise is generated, and it bounds back and forth generating more noise and it travels upwards at the same time.

So at certain height, it gathers more noise ( source noise plus all the echos and reflections), so it is louder at certain height before it will eventually tapers off after certain height.

If 16-13 ok ah? Unit 13 oh.. anyway, what's with 13 with westerners? Is it really suwei taboo like 4 for asia? Or is it Just if avoid, then avoid, if not, OK also?

I would prefer higher floors but buyers must be careful if your unit is just below the roof especially flat roof which is the lanai/patio of the upper unit. It is very difficult to trace source of leakages and also difficult to ask your upper floor neighbour to repair leakages.

For those who prefer the middle floors, be wary of noise and vibration from water-pump room.

How about parking bay with the number 4? Any concerns?

higher floor means water pressure can b lower than the floor below, unless the problem is solved by using pump

if Parking bay is being allocated during the purchase of unit....not choice have to take also wat.....

Sigh, look for the post, there is no best floor in any condo...
Every floor has it pros and cons.

So, another choice is to look for land properties.

If subsales, you will know the parking bay number before hand.. If it contains the number 4, will you still consider?

go for level 10 and above..no sound pollution and nice view

standard guideline...
if facing inside/pool/garden/playground - choose lower floors
if facing outside/landscape/scenery - choose higher floors

don't assume higher floors are not noisy. sound travels to higher floors especially if facing pool. the sound will bounce between blocks all the way up. i stay at 13th floor facing playground and pool and can hear kids play everyday because its fully enclosed by the condo blocks.

Top floor. Breathtaking views. Metropolitan Damansara perdana sit on high ground the high floors got some really nice view of pj.

The main benefit of staying at a highrise (apt/condo) is to be able to enjoy an elevated view. So depends on budget and location of that said property, I would pick as high as possible but personally won't touch the highest floor or penthouse.

it depends, if hi end condo it is a plus, coz nicer view. like live in bungalow next to pool. can see full pool view from upper floor.
hi end condo usually not noisy as mid end condo and lower density.
my condo is pool + facilities is in 9 floor (b2-8 is car cark), my unit is at 10 flr. very nice view from balcony.

Added on October 6, 2012, 11:31 pmfor low end condo and for rental it is better to buy lower floor,best is 2nd floor so u can walk to your unit when lift breakdown (always happening due to poor maintenance, never replace parts etc). also check how many lifts they provide and the brand.
best is more than 2 lifts and branded eg toshiba, hitachi, otis etc
more than 3 lifts if each floor has > 10 units

Depending on what is your view, get the higher floors if you have fantastic KLCC view, get a lower floors if you have swimming pool view, ie. (levels 6-12) shall be good.

I prefer Number 4 than 14 then. I dislike No 13,13A and 14.

But, i accept the house or unit number. Not floor or level bcz I found most ppl do not mind the numbering of Unit 3A but the floor of 3A and 13A. 23A is so-so but better than both.

example apartment block no 4, will you still choose it instead of block no 1,2 or 3

See the floor premium per floor. If expensive I buy low floor. If cheap buy mid high floor.

Block number is very hard to define and we always saw Block A-Z instead of Block or Tower 1-10.

If Tower, I dont mind it whether Tower 1-10, but just ensure the prefer layout, view and of course pricing and its premium.
