me so wanna upgrade my hdd also need more space for psn games... let me know the update time and status joey.... everything is back up? what is lost?

u back up ur stuff to another external hdd first? or straight to this 1tb?

haiz so wanna play online on my ps3... miss good old mgs online... damn 1mbps streamnut line is sooooo slow, and maxis 3g is over quota haiz....

DO NOT back up your data in the HDD that you want to slot in. It'll prompt you to FORMAT the HDD before anything else. What I did was...

1. SYNC my trophies via online. It takes a minute or less.
2. BACK UP your game save data, video, music, photos in an external HDD (if you don't have many things to be saved just plug in a flashdrive will do).
3. Go online and download the LATEST FIRMWARE (you need this later)
4. PRY OPEN & GET THE HDD CAGE out from your PS3.
5. SWAP THE OLD HDD WITH THE NEW HDD (FAT32).
6. FORMAT THE NEW HDD (auto prompt when you fire up your PS3)
7. Once done, then it'll prompt you to update the LATEST FIRMWARE.
8. After that DO NOT FREAK OUT if the resolution turned into like 80s. This is because all the settings are RESET.
9. Then, plug in your external HDD that you've backed up earlier. Your game save data, video, music, photos...
10. Let it RESTORE DATA and wait...wait ...wait until it reached 100%.
11. Then you'll get everything back. Congratulations!

My status? The RESTORE DATA stopped at 95%. ~!@#$%^&*. Then, I REFORMAT my new HDD and RESTORE again. The second time was a success. Now I have 831GB/1TB worth of HDD awesome-ness.

i see.. do u back up your psn games into you external hdd too?? i got quite a few psn games, like resident evil 6, and twister metal and so forth...gonna need atleast 100gb back up hdd liao then... zzz...

u need to have psn plus to back up save game right? what the cheapest u can pay for it? i just dont wanna lose my protected save files..... but dont also need plus service...
