With that budget, u can easily get 40" lcd or 32" ips led tv from any brand. As example, Samsung LA40C530 40" LCD TV is now retailed at RM1249. I didn't say you should grab one, but survey b4 buying it is the utmost importance. Search whichever tv provide the best specs within your budget, with capability to play your desired media format. Latest tv can play full HD mkv without any problems. Good luck with your search.

Recomended go for LG brand, their TV already got build in media player, you just have to plug in your pendrive, Ext. HDD etc etc etc
