With that budget, u can easily get 40" lcd or 32" ips led tv from any brand. As example, Samsung LA40C530 40" LCD TV is now retailed at RM1249. I didn't say you should grab one, but survey b4 buying it is the utmost importance. Search whichever tv provide the best specs within your budget, with capability to play your desired media format. Latest tv can play full HD mkv without any problems. Good luck with your search.

QUOTE(Siraj90 @ Oct 9 2012, 03:26 PM) My LG and Panasonic plasma TVs do recognize SRT subtitle. I'd say, most recent TVs do recognize the format too.btw, if built-in player is your priority, you must check the specs from manufacturer's website throughly. Yup, lots of TVs do have movie playback ability, but the format can be somewhat limited. Some can play MKV while some other are only limited to AVI. Back to the TV discussion, anything on fast motion and Plasma is the only way to go. Same applies if you're keen on watching sports. But remember though that plasma tends to use more power compared to its LCD counterpart, but that shouldn't be anything major though. But do take note that plasma TV tends to be heavier for most model. Also, since plasma tends to be cheaper compared to the same-sized LCD display (due to it also being far cheaper to produce), lots got its features being stripped down for them to upsell you those LCD/LED models. Take Samsung for example, most of their plasma offering are stucked in Series 4+, of which features more ancient perks. Internet, Smart features and all bells and whistles are only reserved for highest end plasma TV, aside for midrange and high end LED TV. In short, Plasma TV tends to be either the most barebone or most feature-packed in the whole TV lineup. This post has been edited by EatMe: Oct 15 2012, 01:31 PM |
