QUOTE(uzary @ Nov 6 2012, 01:13 AM)
guys, i know we will have a very very big match tomorrow nite as we must win against nord.. even a draw will be bad or worst we lose.. i hope conte will deployed all of our finest player n no bedner.

put that aside, lets hav a bit of discussion bout our ''scoreless'' strikers... i hv been wondering bout this since after amauri era. then we has boriello also almost be the nex amauri but thankfully he did scored a few crucial goals for us toward the end of las season. but this season, all our strikers becomin more like amauri in term of unable to scored eventho we they hav a lot of good chances in front of goals.

to date our stikers

Fabio Quagliarella - 3 goals
Sebastian Giovinco - 3 goals
Mirko Vucinic - 2 goals
Alessandro Matri - 1 goals
Nicklas Bendtner - no goal yet

this is worrisome guys.. even for a out form ac milan, their striker el sharrawy is leading the serie a top scorer. i compared to all leagues in europe, other than la liga where messi, ronaldo n falcao hav 10 goals or more, other strikers have an average of 6-8 goals by now. but for our strikers, i just dont know what to say anymore. im not saying they r not good, they can create, dribble, pass xcept unable to finish it. is it an amauri curse or something? or are our strikers very lack of world class level? we r the old lady, we r back being a giant again in europe, we r by far the best domestic club in italy, but we hav this weird problem. it is a good thing that all our goals came from any position of players bout strikers shud score a lot more. also iinm all our goals mostly came from set pieces compared to a more direct approach.

im sure our top management has aware of this, they shud have. so this coming january transfer i hope they wil bring in a very good striker to solve this issue. i frustrated we unable to get RVP wit us, i really wish he, or cavanni or falcao could join us but i dun c that will happen. shud we get Giuseppe Rossi this january? coz other than him, i dunno anymore top strikers available n can play ucl for us. he shud already healed by then but ofcoz his injury prone and his performance after his injuries is still in doubt whether he is a right choice for us or not.. so guys, what do u have tosay regarding this matter? i am really worry in the situation is continuous like this. we cant win if we dont score, n we also cant win if we dont score more than our opponent.
*
Yeahat first i thought we can survive through this season with our current batch of strikers but looks like its impossible.

Even if we buy Rossi, earliest he'll be fit is in March right? If we can get him really cheap i think we should go ahead.

And now I really hope we can get Llronte on Bosman in January. Fickle mindedness and just thinking value for money has seen us let go several top strikers like Aguero, RVP etc. And now we're paying the price.

QUOTE(theprobe @ Nov 6 2012, 02:25 PM)
The first 15 to 20 mins against Inter we could have put the game to bed. But instead of our strikers getting into great goal scoring positions, it was our midfielders. And eventhough Vidal and Marchisio are great going forward, they are no strikers in terms of finishing. Thats why football has different position like strikers and midfielders. Vidal and Marchsio choose the wrong options and i not for once blame them becuase they are afterall midfielders.

That is when our toothless strikers come in. Inter not just played well, they had a top striker to trouble us. Milito was a huge difference between us and Inter that night. He probed, he moved into channels, he drew fouls, he confused our backline. Bendtner on the other hand has a nice touch. And thats about it. Full stop. Giovinco can get past players, but when he did, he passed the ball back to the opponents.

A striker with more quality must surely come in now. Or we will stare at the possibility of a one season wonder. We might end up finishing 2nd or 3rd and out of UCL at grp stage.

Get someone. Llorente or Dzeko or whatever la. They are not WC, but hell they are way better than the pathetic bunch we have now. The oonly 2 strikers that can stay is Quag and Vucinic. Vucinic will support the new guy, Quag and giovinco as subs. Then we can start talking about retaining the title and fighting for UCL.
*
However Vuci, Quag and Gio are not targetman. Our only Targetman are Matri and Bendy, whom both are not performing currently. We got good support / second strikers, now we just need a Vieri to finish up the job.

and I think Llorente and Dzeko are good enough to be WC, if either come in, i think Vidal and Marc can focus more on MF activities.

For goodness sake, let's start Pogba more often! biggrin.gif

QUOTE(uzary @ Nov 6 2012, 04:39 PM)
agreed wit kuale, me other fav team which barca, tho they have plenty of reliable strikers, they also have a magician - messi who can do wonders in a very crucial moment, especially this season where barca are weak in defense n always have to make a come back victory.

how i wish we hav such wonder boy. for now i saw there is a lot of potential for pogba to be our wonderboy. march also a candidate. but again they r not strikers.. arghhhh how i missed the tym when trez and del piero as our strikers, we hav nedved too..
*
Well Messi is kinda in the grey area too. Don't forget Barca can operate without a designated striker, as shown by the absence of Villa. Plus their "real" magicians are in Iniesta and Xavi, who start building play from way back, & Messi will reliably follow up and finish it.

We had that in Trez and ADP last time. And even Iaquinta at his prime or Toni! Now the only striker who doesn't seem to miss his Gio, but given his limited size and strength there's little he can do if he gets double-teamed. The best he could do is to earn freekicks for Pirlo outside the box.

Imagine the damage we could have done upfront, even if we manage to sign cassano or super mario tongue.gif

Llorente still has yet to renew his contract. Hope Beppe don't miss this golden opportunity.

Marc could be our wonderboy for now as he's really a box to box MF. Pogba on the other hand, has the advantage of not many people have seen his style, once he played 10-20 games, we have to see of our opponents could find a way to neutralize him. I definitely don't want Pogba to be end up being another Krasic.

Seems like a very high chance for Quag-Bendy partnership will be used for the match against the Nords, Vuci is currently injured.

OOT: Does Destro will deserve that 2nd booking for almost removing his shirt? His collar did not even go above his chin shakehead.gif

Destro becoming a true roman... "I got booked, I scored, I got sent off" doh.gif

Good win, feel bad for matri unable to score any goal.. but good assist from him tho..
Demmit chelsea won so last minute. Now we need to win all the remainin games.

Added on November 8, 2012, 5:42 am

I hope we will beat chelsea at our home.
*
well english clubs are very well known for their tenacity.....remember liverpool - ac milan match for UCL finals, as well as the very very final minute of BPL last season where Man City scored the season-winning goal? laugh.gif

They really truly do not giveup until the very last minute, + 1 minute. We must be the same too..

Added on November 8, 2012, 10:42 amWow, after the match against pescara, we got 3 high profile matches back to back to back. Lazio, Chelsea, Milan. OMG.

Congratz to Pepe to being a dad! thumbup.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

Hope for full crowd against chelsea.

Added on November 8, 2012, 11:09 amiimn this is first marchisio goal this season right?

Added on November 8, 2012, 11:13 amBTW next match against pescara will be good chance for matri or bendtner to gain th confidence back..
*
Since Pescara does not have Veratti now...we should field as many 2nd stringers as possible as clearly our first team require that precious rest.

after watching the Celtic-Barca highlights.. OMG, what an atmosphere in the Parkhead stadium. 3 times i got the goosebumps when watching the videos; Wanyama goal, Watt goal, final whistle

Lets hope our stadium can have the atmosphere as close as that atleast during Chelsea visit in the 2 weeks time

Added on November 8, 2012, 12:25 pmand yeah what a 'nice' timing  sweat.gif

(11) Pescara vs Juventus
(18) Juventus vs Lazio
(20) Juventus vs Chelsea
(25) AC Milan vs Juventus

Lazio,Chelsea,Milan in space of a week. No disrespect to Pescara but i agree we should use mostly the 2nd choices player against em.
Pirlo esp should be rested bcoz he played almost every matches for 90minutes

and our 2nd lineup is not that bad considering we can fielded; Storari -- Caceres-Marrone-Lucio -- Isla-Pogba-Padoin-Giacc-PDC -- Matri-Bendtner

we can afford losing some points in serie a bcoz its still a long wide race but the match vs Chelsea is a super-crucial.
And we want to avoid losing at all cost in Donetsk. So i hope Conte/Alessio would give the main attention to UCL matches at this time
*
yeah the team needs to hang on until conte returns.

Btw...where's Pepe..? he should have recovered by now right?

Yeah...but i just wonder did we really had the need to start MVP? Oh well, the good thing is Pirlo did not really need to play hard that match, and he can rest against Lazio lol..

lol.com btw, gave Quag a rare 5 star ratings! Quag does seem like Iron man stark from certain angles lol.

At times, Marc seem to have positioned himself as the targetman, i wonder if this is some change in tactic hmm.gif . And Gio seem to excel more in a SS role more, helping to the MF to pump balls to our lone striker.

Buffon must have be darn disappointed in that goal he conceded, if it was Buffon 10 years ago, he would saved that easily sad.gif.

I guess with this performance, Quag and Gio might have cemented their place as the 2 first-choice strikers.

Marc's last ditch clearance was 99% a repeat of John Terry's miracle clearance at WC06 shocking.gif

good news guy, inter loss. now we r back to 4 point lead. hope we keep maintaining our winning momentum again, so far after our first loss, we won big, 4-0, n 6-1.. thumbup.gif

on the side note, lazio beat milan, a really tough task for our player to face them this weekend, hope conte has a very good strategy for this match as we lost one of our mvp for this match. shud 'P'ogba take that role guys??
*
as long we don't forget to mark klose, cardeva and hernandes i think we'll do fine.....

Pogba should play, let's hope he doesn't oversleep this week sweat.gif doh.gif .

Sheet, i forgot that lazio have super glue keeper Marchetti... Quag better keep his shooting razor sharp for this match yawn.gif

I rather rest Vidal and March as well, i think our backup center 3 should be good enough to cover....

Anyway I realized Marrone is always being deployed as a CB, did conte convert him ?

Italy vs France probable lineup tonight;

Buffon, Santon, Chiellini, Barzagli, Balzaretti, Marchisio, Montolivo, Giaccherini, Pirlo, Balotelli, El Shaarawy

friendly by name, not-so by nature. I just hope all of our players return in 100% after the match. Just couldn't figure why would there's some international break(irony, a not-so 'break' for me) during the crucial week

we have Lazio-Chelsea-Milan in a space of 7 days...now we'll have our players exhausted even more heading to these crucial matches(esp UCL against Chelsea). doh.gif
*
Great to see Santon back in the lineup, was a big fan of him with his brave and darting runs during the winter.

I thought Pirlo and Buffon suppose to be given rest, according to Marc.

Hmmm...hope to see more of El sha and veratti playing this match actually...

Marchetti has always been our bogey keeper. Oh well, Buffon did mentioned that Marchetti will succeed him as his heir for Italy before Fiorillo come of age, just too bad that Italy's dismal performance at WC 2010.

I had been a fan of Marchetti as well actually, his hands like contain some super glue or magnet doh.gif

yeah......but this time I support RDM though.

RB's only success was pool's UCL...other than that....he only succeeded at dismantling clubs...

Chelsea's is going to dip even further with RB now...they would have done better with RDM around, at least RDM is more tactically sound!

FIFA Fifpro World XI (defensive) shortlist;

Jordi Alba (Spain, Barcelona); Gareth Bale (Wales, Tottenham); Giorgio Chiellini (Italy, Juventus); Ashley Cole (England, Chelsea); Dani Alves (Brazil, Barcelona); David Luiz (Brazil, Chelsea); Patrice Evra (France, Manchester United); Rio Ferdinand (England, Manchester United); Mats Hummels (Germany, Borussia Dortmund); Branislav Ivanovic (Serbia, Chelsea); Vincent Kompany (Belgium, Manchester City); Philipp Lahm (Germany, Bayern Munich), Marcelo (Brazil, Real Madrid); Javier Mascherano (Argentina, Barcelona); Pepe (Portugal, Real Madrid); Gerard Pique (Spain, Barcelona); Carles Puyol (Spain, Barcelona); Sergio Ramos (Spain, Real Madrid); John Terry (England, Chelsea); Thiago Silva (Brazil, Paris Saint-Germain).

only chiellini? Barzagli deserved his place there. What more can u do as a defender by going the entire
season undefeated and only conceded around 20+ in the league... And no Lichsteiner either..LOL what a joke
*
Barzagli is more like the unsung hero who gets the job done. He frequently stays out of the limelight as well. Reminds you of Vierchwood & Bergomi? laugh.gif

Anyway i think either Chiellio or Puyol will win this. The rest are very very distant behind rclxms.gif

No worries Nordies....we'll get revenge for you...too bad we can no longer kick Shaktar out from the group.

the side definitely looked worn out, with so many players from the same chelsea game playing, im starting to think that this is taking its' toll..

We already expected this to happen, with 3 high-profile matches back to back in a single week...

Allegri agreed that the PK should not be given as he said that the ball actually hit Isla ribs. Too bad we do not have the option to appeal for a replay to debate a referee decision sad.gif . Anywhow Milan fully deserve to win this match. We only had 1 attempt on goal doh.gif

Oh well, the good thing is the others also dint gain much ground on us. Its going to be impossible to remain unbeatable right now, i think we are going to go into damage control mode where we take possible "calculated" loss depending on our fixtures.

Btw, RB got boo'ed in his first match, think he's going to flop even harder than AVB sweat.gif

Melo's PK save was hilarious, too nervous perhaps? laugh.gif
