Well, i can't help but wonder, is there any Chieftec products owner here in LYN? Everytime i look around, it is CoolerMaster, Themaltake, Enlight, etc...so where is my beloved Chieftec? I guess i should start talking about it and bring awareness of Chieftec product to LYN!

I am currently using Chieftec casing and its 420W true power PSU. Both serving me well and I am pretty satisfied with them.

Click here to find out more about Chieftec.

You're not gonna belive this...i was cleaning out my store today and found my old silver Chieftec !!

I already saved up the cash to buy a Stacker 830 cos my Wavemaster is too small...but now with this Chieftec, i can spend like ~400 and get it done up properly !!

Hehe, but with such sturdy built. the weight isn't a factor unless u move your rig too often.

I;m using the Dragon full tower here, modded with side panel 12cm. The weight is worse. But since not moving it around, the weight isn't really annoys me.

The cons is, you will try to make full use of the spaces enough and you will add as much hardware as you can. LOL!

Dun ask for pictures, nothing to be seen in there. Lazy to hide cables. So you know how messy is my rig. smile.gif

I like Survivor's Chieftec front panel design smile.gif

Saros, if ur looking for a case with internals like Survivors case, u can try the HEC 6919. its exactly the same... only difference is that the HEC comes with a 120mm exhaust instead of 2 80mm like the chieftec. take note tat the case is friggin heavy and im sure the chieftec is as well... and the HEC doesnt have doors.

@Survivor
can BOTH ur sidepanels be opened? i have the HEC 6919 and only 1 side can be opened.

ASUS EAX1300 PRO/TD 256MB PCI Express
Western Digital 250GB SATA2 16MB Cache Hard Disk
ASUS 16X DVD-Writer
ASUS 52X32X52X CD-Writer

My next project is to get better monitor, keyboard and mouse. My current on going project is AMD PC. The only thing I am still thinking is about the CrossFire Technology. Any advice?

Pardon my thread necromancing, here's one for the old school... a bone stock Chieftec Dragon Full Tower from the glory days of AMD Athlon XP. Everything is stock, even the side panel has no window.

Side note: Thinking of moving everything into a case supporting quieter 200mm fans, anyone in Klang Valley looking to adopt (yes for free) this Chieftec Dragon can hit me with a PM. Have to be patient though, we're living in the period of pandemic and I'm not keen to ship 15kg worth of steel.

Story: Day to day currently, I use my Macbook and run Parallels for Windows apps - but there are some apps that are power and memory hungry. So I decided to revive the old desktop and remote in instead of running Parallels and driving the Macbook to its thermal limits.

Recently upgrades with some affordable parts I found online:
1. 32GB ram - mobo spec says 16GB max, pretty surprised and 'motivated' to find some threads online reporting 32GB success
2. i7 870 - from i5 750
3. 5.25" drive rack - can hold 6x 2.5" drives. I cut off the rack's faceplate to maintain the stealth look.

Misc spec:
- PSU: Silverstone 600W
- Mobo: Asus P7P55D-E
- GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 5870
- SSD: Refurb Samsung pulled from Lenovo laptop
- Fan controller: 3.5" Vantec 4 channel
- Case fans: 4x Thermaltake Orange Screamers, 1x Sunon
